Chapter 97

Mark nodded, "Bethany's engagement party with Ethan went wrong. The Cameron family canceled the engagement that night! You probably didn't know it because the Stewart family kept it quiet. I just found out through some special channels." "What?" Sophia stood up excitedly, "Bethany was dumped by the Cameron family? Wow! That's big news! But what does this have to do with dealing with Jonathan and Olivia?" Mark waved her over, and Sophia sat on his lap. He hugged her waist and caressed her, then said, "Because Jonathan broke the engagement party! Bethany was devastated and swore revenge! I also found out that James is back from the Eastvale Military District. Do you know his position now?" Sophia asked with a mix of suspicion and excitement, "James? The Stewart eldest son who joined the military eight years ago? He's back? Wasn't he rumored to be a Captain?" Mark smiled. "Now he's a Lieutenant Colonel, commanding three thousand men! He handles important tasks in Eastvale and might become a Colonel  before thirty, a rising star!" Sophia took a sharp breath, excited, "So, James is back for Bethany?" Quentin nodded, "Yes, and to celebrate his father's seventieth birthday! Jonathan must die!" Sophia smiled sinisterly, "Hmm, a veteran like Jonathan going up against a Lieutenant Colonel. I can't wait to see James take down Jonathan!" Hahaha! Their sinister laughter echoed as they embraced and started taking off their clothes. Meanwhile, Olivia had many business matters to handle, so she asked Jonathan to take Ruby shopping. Jonathan took Ruby to a nearby mall, and she ran to the children's play area. After a while, Ruby wanted ice cream, so Jonathan bought two cones. Waving the cones, Jonathan called Ruby. She jumped and ran over. But then, a group of bodyguards in black suits surrounded a tall, cool-looking celebrity in a black dress and sunglasses. Behind her were hundreds of fans, taking pictures and shouting! They were more excited than seeing their own parents, treating the celebrity as their spiritual pillar, life motivation, and faith, ignoring other mall guests. The bodyguards arrogantly shouted, "Move aside! Make way!" Ruby ran towards Jonathan in their path. One bodyguard roughly pushed Ruby away. The little girl fell, hitting her head, and started crying, "Boohoo, dad!" Her forehead swelled up, and she sat on the ground, crying loudly. Seeing this, Jonathan dropped the ice cream and shouted, "Ruby!" He rushed over. The bodyguard still tried to kick Ruby. It infuriated Jonathan and he roared, "How dare you!" Bang! With a loud noise, Jonathan rushed to Ruby and kicked the bodyguard, sending him flying into a*****e window! Crack! The explosion-proof glass shattered instantly! The bodyguard grunted, spat blood, and lay unconscious among the shattered glass. The previously noisy mall became silent instantly! The hundreds of fans, frantically taking pictures, also went silent, staring at the unconscious bodyguard and Jonathan holding Ruby! Jonathan checked Ruby's swollen forehead. Seeing Ruby injured, he filled with rage. His whole aura turning icy cold! Ruby clung to Jonathan, crying, "Daddy, it hurts..." "Ruby, don't be afraid. Daddy's here. Daddy will teach the bad guys a lesson, okay?" Jonathan comforted. Ruby nodded, still crying. Jonathan turned, eyes cold as a killer's, staring at the bodyguards, and roared, "What are you doing? Are you blind? Can't you see a child? Or is this mall yours, and anyone in your way gets hit?" Jonathan was furious! He'd seen online rumors about celebrities blocking roads but hadn't believed them. Now, seeing it firsthand, he was enraged! When had Novaria become like this? Not Soldiers or scientists got respect, but stars! Jonathan didn't oppose entertainment, but this madness and disruption were detestable!
