Jonathan sighed helplessly and asked, "Do you trust me?"
"Yes!" Olivia nodded firmly without hesitation. "I trust you."
"Then follow my lead." Jonathan shot Jagger's family a cold glare and addressed Bryce, "We don't know them. They have nothing to do with us. To be precise, Olivia has nothing to do with the Harrison family anymore. And he said he was no longer my wife's father."
'What?! Why would a father disown his own daughter?'
Jonathan's words shocked everyone present, and all eyes turned to Jagger.
Sophia looked at Olivia with jealousy. While Jagger's family would lose their chance at cooperation with the Apex Group, Olivia would surely gain their favor.
Sophia could accept losing to elite families, but not to Olivia. She believed that she was better than Olivia in every way.
"Jonathan, what are you talking about? This is a family matter. It has nothing to do with you!" Sally, red-faced with anger, raised her hand to slap Jonathan.
But Jonathan caught her hand and stared at her coldly. "Don't think I won't hit a woman."
Sally's heart skipped a beat, and she trembled slightly. Jonathan's terrifying gaze made her almost collapse. "W-What are you trying to do?" Sally panicked.
Jonathan released her hand and glared at her, "b***h, you're indeed trying to deceive Olivia." He then looked at the other members of the Harrison family and said, "You promised that if Olivia secured the cooperation, you would welcome her back. Does that still stand?"
The Harrison family members avoided his gaze. Jonathan took a deep breath and continued, "I have three conditions. First, you must apologize to Olivia."
Jonathan pointed at Jagger's family and then at Sophia, "And you, apologize to Olivia and Ruby. Besides, Samuel must personally invite Olivia back to the Harrison family in a luxury car. If any condition is not met, today's cooperation will have nothing to do with the Harrison family."
The crowd fell silent.
If Jonathan's previous words were distant thunder, his final glare at Sophia stroked fear into her like lightning. She trembled uncontrollably.
"No way! I'll never apologize to that b***h and that bastard! Never!" Sophia's face turned pale, and she stomped her foot in rage.
Jonathan ignored her and turned to leave with Olivia.
Furious, Sophia turned to Bryce and shouted, "Mr. Kingsley, Olivia has no foundation or strength. She doesn't even have a company. Are you really going to cooperate with her?"
Bryce glanced coldly at Sophia and snorted, "This is the Apex Group's decision and Colonel Wellington's choice. You are in no position to question it."
With that, Bryce announced, "The winning bid for this cooperation is Olivia." Then he turned and left.
The doors slammed shut. Frustrated, the crowd turned to leave and cursed Olivia and Jonathan under their breath.
Sophia seethed with anger and glared at Jonathan and Olivia's departing figures.
"Dad, what do we do now? We can't miss this opportunity. If we can secure this cooperation from Olivia, we'll rise in the Harrison family." Chad was anxious. He had just been promoted to deputy manager of the Harrison group's marketing department. But he would always be under Sophia's family's thumb if he didn't achieve results quickly.
Jagger's face darkened. "You heard Jonathan's conditions. He's a brute. He really wants us to apologize. Let's go back and let your grandpa decide."
Meanwhile, Olivia asked worriedly in the car, "Jonathan, what if they start hating us? Your conditions were too harsh. How could they agree? I'm afraid Grandpa won't acknowledge me as his granddaughter anymore." She felt extremely unsettled and anxious.
Jonathan held Olivia's hand and comforted her, "Don't worry. They will come to beg you to return. This cooperation is a rare opportunity for the Harrison family. If your grandpa wants the Harrison family to reach greater heights and continue to prosper, he will come to you."
"But I can't ask Grandpa to beg me. It's too much." Olivia's kind nature was evident. She was considering Samuel even now.
"Olivia, do you want to be looked down upon by the Harrison family for the rest of your life? Didn't you say you wanted to return to the Harrison family? You care about your grandpa, but does anyone care about you?" Jonathan countered.
"But..." Olivia hesitated.
"Trust me. I'll handle everything," Jonathan said.
Olivia took a deep breath and nodded firmly, "I trust you."
As she said this, her grip on Jonathan's hand tightened. Suddenly, she asked suspiciously, "But how did you know Colonel Elliott hates receiving gifts?"
