Chapter 45

1062 Words
Sally almost fainted on the spot. The last thing she wanted to do was to apologize to Olivia in front of the entire Harrison family. If she did, how could she hold her head up in the family? "Dad, you can't..." Sally began, but Samuel's cold glare shut her up instantly. She depended on the Harrison family. Without them, she would lose her life of luxury, so she didn't dare protest further. Seeing this, Olivia quickly grabbed Jonathan's arm. "Jonathan, please don't push this. They are my parents." However, Jonathan insisted, "If you want to return to the Harrison family and not be bullied, you must accept this. They deserve it. Don't forget how they treated you and Ruby." Olivia fell silent at his words. With no choice left, Sally forced a smile and said, "Olivia, I'm sorry. It was my fault. Please forgive me." "Olivia, I'm sorry. I was wrong. I'll treat you like my own sister from now on," Chad said with a forced smile, but his expression remained awkward. Olivia replied, "Mom, Chad, it's okay. I forgive you." Finally, it was Jagger's turn. He sighed heavily and said with difficulty, "Olivia, I'm sorry." Hearing this, Olivia burst into tears and threw herself into Jagger's arms. "Dad, I'm sorry. I've disappointed you. I missed you so much." Jagger's eyes welled up. Olivia was his daughter, and of course, he cared about her. However, being a part of the Harrison family, he had no choice. He was stressed out in the family, and Sally was strong-willed, so he could only swallow his emotions. Seeing Jagger and Olivia embrace, Sally smiled, but inside, she was planning her next move against Olivia. She would never allow Olivia to truly return to the Harrison family. She wouldn't let Olivia threaten Chad's position in the family. After all, Olivia wasn't her daughter, and Chad was everything to her. But no one else knew their true intentions. After the apologies, the Harrison family finally prepared to welcome Olivia and Ruby back into the family. Sally suddenly asked, "Olivia, whose villa is this?" Her question immediately drew the attention of the entire Harrison family. Everyone listened intently. Olivia explained with a smile, "Jonathan said it's a friend's house. We're just staying here for some time." "His friend? Isn't he just a hobo?" Sally questioned skeptically. But before Olivia could respond, the other Harrison family members lost interest and began leaving one by one. They realized that Olivia and Jonathan were still poor. Even if they were allowed back into the Harrison family, they posed no threat. Without waiting for an explanation, Sally turned away with disgust. Chad spat on the ground, muttering, "Heh, I thought you had landed some rich guy, but it's all fake." He turned and left in a huff. Watching the Harrison family members leave, Olivia felt a deep sense of loss. She looked helplessly at Jonathan, "Jonathan, am I too soft-hearted?" Jonathan smiled and wrapped his arm around Olivia's shoulders. "That's why I love you. Don't think too much. Let's pack up and head back to the Harrison Villa." Olivia nodded vigorously. She had waited too long for this day. Even if everyone was cold to her, she still held on to hope. Her spirits were high, and she kept a smile on her face throughout the day. When they arrived at the Harrison Villa, there was no one to welcome them at the door. Olivia felt a bit disappointed but still mustered a smile and eagerly pulled Jonathan along. "Let me show you around." Olivia led Jonathan around the Harrison Villa excitedly. Many places had changed, and she had forgotten some parts, but she was still enthusiastic. Jonathan, holding Ruby, followed her with a smile. It was the first time Jonathan had seen Olivia so genuinely happy. That evening, the Harrison family held a banquet in the main hall. Direct family members filled the large table. When Olivia and Jonathan walked in with Ruby, they were met with looks of disdain and contempt. "They actually have the nerve to attend the family banquet." "Heh, do they really think they're a part of the Harrison family now?" "Shh! Quiet. Jonathan is a madman. He's beaten Sophia and Chad before." Faced with the jeers, Olivia and Jonathan could only sit at a small side table in the corner. The small table was, of course, deliberately arranged by Sophia to humiliate them. Even though they returned to the Harrison family, they belonged in the corner. Jonathan didn't mind, but Olivia looked apologetically at him and whispered, "Jonathan, I'm sorry I put you in this position." Jonathan patted Olivia's hand with a smile. "It's okay as long as you're by my side." "Daddy, I want that." Ruby pointed to a pink cream cake on the table, her eyes full of longing. It was just a simple, common dessert, but for Ruby, it was a rare treat. Ruby's eyesight had slightly improved, thanks to the medical team's efforts over the past few days. She still wore a thin black veil over her eyes. Now she could see things vaguely and needed time to heal. "Alright, I'll get it for you." Jonathan patted Ruby's head. But just then, Sophia walked over and swept all the cream desserts off the table. She called to the dog at the door. "Come here. Eat up. Some people should know their place. We'd rather feed dogs than certain little bastards." With a cold snort, Sophia strutted back to her seat. Her eyes were filled with arrogance. The other Harrison family members laughed mockingly. "Heh, that little bastard should be grateful just to be here." "Grandpa allowed them back but didn't acknowledge that little bastard as one of us." "A hobo, a b***h, and a bastard. Perfect family, haha!" Hearing these words, Jonathan trembled with anger and clenched his fists. If he hadn't promised Olivia not to cause trouble, he would have burned the Harrison Villa and made them apologize to Ruby. Ruby pouted, and her eyes were filled with tears. She threw herself in Olivia's arms, crying, "Mommy, I just wanted a pink cake." Olivia's heart ached as she comforted Ruby. "Don't cry, Ruby. I'll buy you one later." But Jonathan couldn't hold back his anger any longer. He stood up, glared coldly at Sophia, and shouted, "You, apologize to Ruby now!"
