Chapter 88

Olivia carefully applied her makeup. She wore a long white dress and a pair of sandals. She carried a small bag, her figure slender, especially her legs, fair and smooth, and her attractive collarbone. This was pure beauty. Olivia looked like a young girl, sweet and sunny. "Going out?" Jonathan quickly stubbed out his cigarette and asked. Olivia glanced at him, much calmer, and nodded, "Some friends invited me out for a meal." Hearing this, Jonathan said, "I'll go with you." Olivia thought for a moment. These friends all brought their husbands, so she nodded, "Okay, but you can't just start a fight like before. You need to control yourself. These friends are all daughters of prominent families, and their husbands either run their own companies or are managers in listed companies. They can't be easily offended." Jonathan was happy. If Olivia was willing to take him out, it meant he still had a chance to explain and express his love. "Okay, I promise." Jonathan said, and without changing his clothes, he hurried out to open the car door, "I'll drive you." Olivia looked at the brand-new BMW 5 Series, thought for a moment, then got into the car and sat in the front passenger seat. On the way, the car was somewhat silent. Although light music was playing, Olivia seemed to have a lot on her mind, turning her face to look out the window, her long eyelashes showing a hint of hesitation. Jonathan didn't dare say anything, as Olivia might still be quietly angry with him. When they arrived at the Grand Case Hotel, Jonathan parked the car. As they got out, a loud voice called out behind them, "Oh my, Olivia? It's really you, what a coincidence! You just arrived too? Is this your husband? Why is he driving a shabby BMW? That's too cheap." Jonathan and Olivia frowned and turned to see a flashy woman, dressed in expensive clothes, adorned with various gold and silver jewelry, holding a limited edition LV bag. She casually pressed the car key in her hand, and the Ferrari behind her flashed its lights. Olivia's expression slightly darkened, but she stayed polite. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and smiled, "Maggie, you're here." Maggie looked to be in her twenties. Her features weren't stunning, but with makeup, she looked decent, exuding a mature woman's charm. She swayed her hips seductively, taking small steps, and then smiled coolly, "Olivia, it's been years since we last met. How have you been? I heard you were kicked out of the Harrison family five years ago because of that incident? Is that true? If so, life must have been tough for you. If you have any difficulties, feel free to tell me. After all, I'm your best friend, and I'll help you as much as I can!" Hearing this, Olivia felt uncomfortable but still forced a smile, "Thank you, Maggie." Maggie gave a fake smile, inwardly full of mockery. Among their group of friends, Olivia used to be the most dazzling one, pursued by many rich young men from prominent families. Money rained down on Olivia like a storm! This made her friends feel like sidekicks, and they hated Olivia for it! Recently, upon hearing that Olivia had returned to the Harrison family, they immediately arranged a gathering to humiliate Olivia and see if she still lived the enviable life she once had. Clearly, she no longer did. "Oh, isn't this the famous one everyone in town is talking about, your husband, the Parker family's disgrace?" Maggie now noticed Jonathan standing beside Olivia and sneered coldly. Jonathan's face grew colder. This woman's earlier words had already annoyed him. However, he had promised Olivia not to cause trouble, so he smiled faintly, "Hello, I'm Olivia's husband, Jonathan." Seeing that neither of them got angry, Maggie thought they were too poor to stand up for themselves and laughed exaggeratedly, covering her mouth, "Is that so? He looks quite handsome, but too bad he's poor. The Parker family is no more, and you, a once proud young master of the Parker family, can now only be a son-in-law in the Harrison family. How pathetic. But you two do make a good match. People say a homeless bastard matches well with a little b*tch, and you even have a bastard..." Saying this, Maggie deliberately glanced at Olivia's face and saw that her expression was cold and her mood was naturally bad. Feeling pleased, she immediately pretended to apologize, "Oh, Olivia, don't be mad. That's just what people are saying outside. I'm sorry. Come on, let's go inside. Evelyn and the others should already be there." "Evelyn?" Olivia muttered, her already troubled expression becoming more conflicted and hesitant. Evelyn Huxley was once Olivia's best friend. They had been classmates from elementary school to university, sharing a deep bond and being almost inseparable. However, in college, they had a falling out over a boy and became estranged! The boy had been pursuing Olivia, but she had rejected him. Evelyn, on the other hand, liked the boy very much. Over time, many conflicts arose between Evelyn and Olivia. Evelyn even hit Olivia once to please the boy. Seeing Olivia in a daze, Maggie, afraid she would run away, quickly grabbed her hand and said, "What are you thinking about? Let's go in."
