Chapter 65

843 Words
Wayne pushed through the crowd and stood at the front with a smug look on his face. He yelled at Jonathan, "Jonathan, do you see the difference between us now? Apologize!" He couldn't believe a hobo like Jonathan had the audacity to act so tough. Today, he was determined to make Jonathan submit to him. Unexpectedly, faced with hundreds of henchmen, Jonathan showed no fear. Instead, he sneered, "Is this all you've got?" Wayne's face darkened. "What did you say?" Jonathan held Ruby in one arm and picked up a wooden stick with the other. He spoke gently, "Ruby, close your eyes and don't open them no matter what you hear. Daddy will buy you a cake later." Ruby closed her eyes obediently. "Okay, Daddy." Seeing this, Wayne scratched his head in frustration and screamed, "You're dead, asshole! All of you, attack! Kill him!" Those henchmen surged forward, armed with baseball bats and knives. They roared as they charged at Jonathan. But Jonathan stood firm and exuded a deadly aura. Boom! Suddenly, Jonathan made a move. He kicked a henchman and sent him flying, knocking down a dozen behind him. He then swung the wooden stick and smashed it over the head of a knife-wielding henchman. Blood spattered everywhere, and the henchman collapsed to the ground. In a blink, Jonathan had taken out several men. The rest gawked in shock. 'How could he be this strong? Is he even human?' Wayne was stunned. He kicked a few henchmen in the back and shouted, "Get him! There are so many of you. Kill this piece of trash!" The henchmen charged again. But suddenly, a roaring noise echoed. Several military jeeps smashed through the market gates. The henchmen scattered and tried to flee. Some were hit and sent flying by the jeeps crashing in. Thud! Thud! Thud! Dozens of special forces soldiers appeared behind the shattered gates in black combat uniforms. They wore black berets and combat boots and were fully armed with guns. They quickly stormed in with uniform movements. Behind them came armored riot control vehicles with flashing lights. "Drop your weapons! Surrender immediately!" "Resist, and you will be shot on sight!" "Drop your weapons and lie on the ground!" Bang! Some soldiers kicked the henchmen to the ground and disarmed them. Others flipped the henchmen over and pinned them down. In mere seconds, all the henchmen were subdued. "Group One, clear." "Group Two, clear." "Group Three, clear." Wayne got down on his knees, with his hands on his head, and started trembling. 'God, what's happening? These are soldiers, not cops! Is this a drill?' Amidst the chaos, a commanding officer walked up to Jonathan, saluted him, and reported, "Mr. Parker, the area is secure. Awaiting your orders." Hiss! Wayne's eyes widened in shock. 'Did Jonathan arrange this? It can't be true! The Parker family was destroyed. Jonathan is supposed to be a worthless son-in-law now!' Jonathan nodded and glanced coldly at Wayne. "Wayne, do you still think you have any right to demand an apology from me?" Wayne panicked. He crawled to Jonathan's feet and slapped his own face. "Jonathan, please forgive me. I was an i***t. I was wrong. Please, for the sake of the old friendship between our families, forgive me this once. I'll do anything you ask, just like before. Please..." His face quickly turned red, and blood dripped from his mouth. He didn't know Jonathan's true identity, but he knew Jonathan must be powerful to command such forces. Jonathan said coldly, "You brought this on yourself. It's too late to beg now." Then he turned to the officer and said, "Seal off the Preston Villa and hand over any evidence of their crimes to the Yonderville police. And keep my identity confidential. I don't want any unnecessary attention." "Yes, sir," the officer replied. Wayne was terrified to the core. He clutched Jonathan's pants, pleading, "Jonathan, please show some mercy! Please spare me and my family!" Bang! The officer kicked Wayne aside and ordered in a cold voice, "Take them all away." "Ah! Jonathan, I hate you! I'll haunt you for the rest of your days!" Wayne screamed with madness as he was dragged away. Jonathan left the market. Half an hour later, a sensational event shook Yonderville. The Chief of the Yonderville Police Department raided and sealed off the Preston Villa personally. This was a coordinated operation involving multiple government departments with a complete chain of evidence. The news spread like wildfire and caused a huge public uproar. When Jonathan returned home, Olivia rushed to him. "Jonathan, are you okay?" "Sure, why?" Jonathan asked, confused. Olivia's face was full of concern. "The news just reported a violent brawl at the market. Many were injured, and they said the Preston Villa was raided." She pointed at the TV, and coincidentally, it showed the officer saluting Jonathan. Though it was just a back view, Olivia was startled. "Jonathan, this guy looks just like you. Were you there today?" Olivia asked suspiciously and stared at Jonathan, her eyes filled with worry.
