Jonathan looked at Dorian coldly. "In the past, you'd be dead. But I've just returned to Yonderville and need some men to handle things for me."
"I understand. From now on, I'm your servant, and so are my descendants." Dorian trembled. It was the second time he had narrowly escaped death, but it was utterly terrifying.
Jonathan shifted his gaze to Simon. "This matter doesn't concern you."
Simon lifted his head and quickly moved to stand beside Jonathan.
Kevin was outside, utterly disinterested in what was happening inside. When Jonathan stepped out, Kevin approached him respectfully. "Mr. Parker, is there anything else you need me to do?"
Jonathan spoke casually, "Everything that happened today stays confidential. If my wife asks, you know what to say."
Kevin nodded immediately. "I understand. I'll come up with an excuse. I'll make sure your identity remains secret."
He watched Jonathan leave, feeling deeply shaken.
Then he glanced back at Dorian, composed himself, and left swiftly.
When Jonathan returned home, Olivia rushed up to him, full of worry. "Are you okay? Did they give you a hard time?"
Jonathan waved it off and smiled. "No, they just needed to ask some questions and take a statement. It's all settled now. They promised it wouldn't happen again. The factory can resume work without any issues."
Olivia sighed in relief and patted her chest. "That's great news! I'm going to tell Mr. Patton."
With that, Olivia grabbed her bag and headed out.
Meanwhile, Mark and Sophia were at the Newton Group.
Mark was lounging on the sofa in his office with Sophia on his lap. They were both naked and entangled. Their lascivious sounds filled the room.
Suddenly, Mark's phone rang. Annoyed, he glanced at the screen before answering, "What is it? This better be important."
An anxious voice on the other end said, "Mr. Newton, there's a problem. Mason's been arrested, and the Harrison family's factory has resumed work."
"What?" Mark pushed Sophia off and jumped to his feet. His mind raced. "How did Mason get arrested? What happened?"
"I'm not sure. The police chief of the Willow District led the raid and caught him on the spot. Mr. Newton, do you think he might rat us out?" The person on the line sounded ready to flee.
Mark's face darkened. With his hands on his hips, he paced back and forth. "Don't panic. I'll go see Dorian right now."
He ended the call, and his expression grew more severe. Sophia wrapped herself in a sheet and asked, "What's going on?"
"Mason got arrested, and the Harrison family's factory is back in business. I need to talk to Dorian." Mark quickly called his assistant to arrange a car and two cases of money.
"I'm coming with you," Sophia insisted. She was eager to thwart Olivia's success.
Soon, Mark and Sophia arrived at Dorian's mansion, each carrying a suitcase of cash.
"Who are you here to see?" a burly guard asked coldly and blocked their way at the gate.
Mark put on a flattering smile. "I'm here to see Mr. Campbell. Please inform him that Mark Newton from the Newton Group, a friend of Mason, is here."
The guard looked Mark up and down and replied coldly, "Wait here." Then he headed inside.
Sophia clutched Mark's arm and looked around nervously. This was Dorian's mansion, luxurious yet overwhelmingly imposing. Ordinary people couldn't even step inside.
"Mark, will Mr. Campbell see us?" Sophia whispered.
Mark smiled confidently. "Don't worry. Mason and I are friends. Mr. Campbell will see us. Plus, the Newton Group has a reputation in Yonderville. He won't refuse us."
Just as he finished speaking, the guard returned.
This time he led several armed guards wielding baseball bats. They charged at Mark and shouted, "Mr. Campbell ordered us to beat you."
Mark was paralyzed with shock. Before he could react, the guards surrounded him, kicked him, and punched him to the ground.
"Ah! Stop! Don't hit my face. You've got the wrong person! I'm Mark Newton from the Newton Group. I'm here to see Mr. Campbell. Mason is my friend. Ah! Stop! Please stop!"
Mark covered his head and wailed, but the beating only intensified. His agonized screams echoed across the mansion.
Sophia was pale with fear. She rushed to intervene and shouted, "Stop! He's the heir of the Newton family. You've made a mistake."
Smack!
One of the guards turned and slapped her down. "Stupid b***h! Get lost if you don't want to die."
Terrified, Sophia clutched her face and ran away.
Mark struggled up and bolted to his car. He quickly started the engine and drove away.
Sophia panicked. She chased after the car and screamed, "Mark, don't go! What about me? Get back here, you bastard!"
