Xavier bowed slightly and led Daniel to the main table in the hall.
The butler then led another middle-aged man in, announcing, "Welcome, Mr. Simon Reed!"
The guests craned their necks to see the gift he was holding. It was a golden pocket watch!
The golden pocket watch was recently auctioned for a million dollars. This was a grand gesture!
Xavier immediately approached him with a big smile. "Mr. Reed, it's an honor to have you at the party. Thank you so much for the valuable gift!"
Simon, dressed in a white suit, exuded the air of a successful man in his forties or fifties. Instead of shaking hands with Xavier first, he smiled and extended his hand to Daniel, "Mr. Mayor, I didn't expect to see you here."
Daniel smiled lightly and shook Simon's hand. "I'm just here to join the festivities. Mr. Reed, you are very generous. That golden pocket watch is a real treasure."
Simon smiled before turning to shake hands with Xavier. Being a businessman, Simon held a deep respect for Daniel. With Xavier's guidance, Daniel and Simon took their seats at the head table. Daniel sat at the head while Simon modestly took the seat to his right.
In the grand hall, many of Yonderville's elites were discussing. "Did you hear that? The Roberts family was wiped out overnight by enemies."

Daniel didn't actually reveal anything, and the guests couldn't press further.
Simon's eyes flickered as he whispered to Daniel, "Mr. Mayor, from what I've heard, the destruction of the Roberts family definitely involved the Warren family in Zalindale. Will the forces and interests behind this cause you trouble?"
Daniel smiled, "Mr. Reed, don't worry about that. If the Warren family dares to meddle in Yonderville, someone will handle it."
Simon nodded subtly, saying no more.
