The grand doors of the opulent hall swung open, and Jonathan, clad in all black, strode in with Benjamin by his side. His presence was commanding, and his face, which was equally as striking as Ethan's, gave off the air of someone who was ready to take over.

The crowd was stunned! Instantly, the hall buzzed with hushed conversations.

"The Parker family? Why haven't I heard of them?"

"Are you an i***t?! He's Jonathan Parker, the one who was betrothed to Bethany years ago!"

"What?! The last remnant of the Parker family?! He's still alive?! I thought he was dead!"

All eyes were now fixed on Jonathan. They all tried to recall the disheveled, doomed heir of the Parker family from five years ago. But they quickly realized that Jonathan had undergone a huge transformation! His face was more chiseled, and his eyes were sharper!

If he had been just a pampered heir of an affluent family before, now he seemed like a true leader.

But these weren't the key points. The key point was that the groom, abandoned at the wedding five years ago, was back! And he had appeared at the engagement party of Bethany and the heir of the Cameron family!

It seemed that tonight was destined for drama! Many still vividly remembered the tragic end of the Parker family. Jonathan's parents were driven to their deaths by Bethany. Now that Jonathan had returned, there was no way he'd let the Stewart family off!

On the stage, Bethany's eyes, which had sparkled with delight moments ago, turned cold as she gnashed her teeth at Jonathan. Her eyes were filled with hatred!

This engagement party was crucial for her. It wasn't just about her choosing a groom but also about her staking her claim in Zalindale and seizing greater opportunities. It was a chance to announce the Stewart family's dominance in Yonderville! Especially since the Roberts family had fallen, the Stewart family now held every advantage!

So, Bethany could not afford any mishaps! Jonathan was her former fiancé. He had once cared for her deeply, even to the point of offering his life!

But anyone who disrupted her engagement party must be killed!

"Jonathan, long time no see. I didn't expect you to still be alive. You're here to give me your blessings tonight, aren't you?" Bethany acted graciously. She lifted the hem of her wedding gown, looking like a princess in the spotlight.

But there was no joy in her eyes. Everyone knew that her pleasant demeanor was a facade. There was even a hint of killing intent on her face!

All the guests turned to Jonathan, waiting for his response.

Jonathan's expression was calm as he locked eyes with Bethany, feeling a mix of sorrow, regret, and hatred!

Bethany was still beautiful and elicited no thoughts of desecration.

But years ago, right here, in that very spot under the lights, she had embraced him, kissed him, and made promises of eternal love!

Yet Jonathan only realized later that it had all been part of Bethany's plan, and he had merely been a pawn in her hands!

"Congratulations, Bethany, on finding the one you love." Jonathan finally spoke after a long silence. His gaze then shifted to Ethan.

Zalindale was much more developed than Yonderville. The heir of the Cameron family from Zalindale was indeed extraordinary. He was totally different in demeanor from the local elites of Yonderville.

Ethan felt uncomfortable under Jonathan's gaze. He cast a strange sidelong glance at Bethany and then turned back to Jonathan, sneering, "Jonathan Parker? The loser who fled Yonderville years ago? Heh, I didn't expect you to still be alive. With your parents dead and the Parker family gone, trash like you shouldn't even exist in this world! If I were you, I would have ended my life long ago!"

With that, Ethan walked over to Jonathan. His eyes were filled with arrogance and disdain. A worthless remnant of the Parker family was beneath his notice. Moreover, such trash had once been Bethany's fiancé! Ethan couldn't digest this; he wanted to obliterate Jonathan to quell his anger!

"This is my engagement party. If you're here to congratulate us, you're welcome to sit on the side. But if you're here to cause trouble, sorry, you'll regret it!" Seeing Jonathan remain silent, Ethan stepped closer, lifted his chin high, and even poked Jonathan in the chest.

Behind him, two Cameron family bodyguards in suits stepped out, flanking Jonathan! If Jonathan made a wrong move, they would strike immediately!

But in the next moment...

Crunch!

Jonathan swiftly grabbed Ethan's finger and snapped it. Then he said coldly, "I don't like being poked. Also, the Cameron family means nothing to me! Tonight, my business is with the Stewart family. If you don't want to die, get on your knees and watch quietly!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Ethan collapsed to his knees and screamed in pain.

Jonathan's tone had frightened him so much that, as the heir of the Cameron family, he found himself involuntarily dropping to his knees!

Realizing this was a massive humiliation, Ethan quickly stood up, clutched his broken finger, and roared at Jonathan, "You're nothing but a loser from the Parker family! How dare you compare yourself to the Cameron family?! Listen, with the kind of power I hold, I could kill you right now..."

Slap!

Before Ethan could finish, Jonathan struck him hard across the face. "Shut up!"

Ethan crashed into a table. Food and decorations were scattered everywhere!

The scene shocked everyone! They stared with wide eyes and murmured, "My God! Jonathan is insane! He hit the heir of the Cameron family!"

"Terence Cameron, the head of the Cameron family, dotes on his son. If he finds out about this, Jonathan is doomed!"

"Jonathan is too impulsive. He has changed a lot, but he's still so reckless. He just got back, and he's already throwing his life away!"

Among the crowd's murmurs, Bethany snapped back to reality. She hurried to Ethan's side, lifting her gown. "Ethan?! Are you alright?"

Seeing her beloved covered in dirt with his face injured, Bethany was instantly enraged. 

"Jonathan! What are you doing?! This is my engagement party! How dare you hit my fiancé! Do you want to die?! Guards, get him!" 

At Bethany's command, several bodyguards from the Stewart and Cameron families emerged from the crowd and rushed toward Jonathan! Jonathan simply raised his hand, and the approaching bodyguards were instantly struck down and thrown to the ground, unconscious!

This left the crowd with a renewed impression of Jonathan.

Was this still the weak Jonathan from the Parker family? He had never had such skills before! What had he gone through these past few years?

Jonathan dusted off his sleeves and glared at Bethany. His eyes were red with rage, and he shouted, "Bethany, I'm here tonight to reclaim what the Stewart family took from me five years ago!"

As he finished speaking, Benjamin, who had been following Jonathan, carefully placed a black box on the table.

The black silk was lifted off the box by Jonathan, revealing its contents: a palm-sized black cross with golden cursive letters inscribed on it, reading, "In memory of Father Liam Parker and Mother Mabel Brown Parker. Rest in Peace."
