Chapter 60

"Ah!" Sally covered her mouth and stared with disbelief. Chad, terrified, darted his eyes around. Sophia had slapped Olivia in front of the entire Harrison family. A vivid red handprint instantly appeared on Olivia's face. She was dazed by the slap. "Sophia, what did I do wrong?" Olivia's voice trembled, and tears welled up as she clutched her burning cheek. Sophia clenched her teeth and glared at Olivia. "Who do you think you are to take my partnership, you b***h? You don't belong here! How could you come up with a better proposal than me? It must be fake! Tell me the truth!" Sophia raised her hand to slap Olivia again, but this time, she couldn't. Her arm was caught mid-air by a hand as strong as iron. Jonathan had appeared behind her. His fury ignited at the sight of the red mark on Olivia's face. "Sophia, I warned you. No one can harm Olivia, especially not you. You're asking for it," Jonathan growled. His demeanor was terrifying. Sophia struggled to break free and spat, "Who do you think you are, Jonathan? You've been nothing but a curse. You always mess with my plans. Remember, this is the Harrison family, not the doomed Parker family. Let go of me. I'll beat this b***h to death today." Smack! Jonathan's hand struck Sophia across the face. Sophia staggered back and fell to the ground. Sophia sat on the ground, stunned. She clutched her rapidly swelling cheek and looked up at Jonathan with hatred. "Jonathan, how dare you hit me? Do you know where you are? I'll kick both of you out of the Harrison family!" Jonathan glared at the deranged Sophia. "One more word, and I'll kill you right now." Boom! Jonathan's words struck Sophia like a thunderbolt. Terror seized her as she saw him step towards her. She shook uncontrollably and felt a deep sense of dread. "W-What are you doing? Don't come near me. I'm Grandpa's favorite granddaughter. If you harm me, both you and Olivia will be kicked out of the Harrison family. You'll be homeless. Forget about any partnership." Sophia backed away in fear. Olivia was disappointed at Sophia's loss of control but quickly regained her composure. She rushed over, grabbed Jonathan's arm, and shook her head firmly. "Jonathan, don't. I'm fine. It's just a misunderstanding. Don't be impulsive." Jonathan looked at her. The anger in his eyes faded slowly. He knew Olivia was strong inside, despite her gentle appearance. As a five-star general, he could easily bring the Harrison family to its knees, but he couldn't do that. Olivia still loved her family. Jonathan sighed, glared hatefully at the terrified Sophia on the floor, and then left the meeting room with Olivia. At the clinic down the street, Jonathan stayed with Olivia as the doctor examined her face. Thankfully, it was nothing serious. "Jonathan, I'm okay," Olivia said, her voice soft but strong. She had promised Jonathan to be strong and confident and didn't want to appear weak over something so insignificant. Jonathan patted her head. "No one will ever hurt you. I promise I'll always be here." Olivia nodded happily. "By the way, my proposal was approved. Thank you for helping me these past few days. Without you, I couldn't have done it." Jonathan smiled. "It's not because of me. You did it with your hard work. This shows you have a natural talent for running a business, right?" They smiled at each other. Meanwhile, Sophia returned home crying. "Dad, look at my face. Jonathan did this. I won't let it go," Sophia fumed. Her cheek was still swollen and imprinted with Jonathan's slap. Declan's face darkened with anger. "Jonathan has gone too far. This is the Harrison family. How dare he hit you? Sophia, we're going to see your grandfather. I won't let Jonathan get away with this." "Dad, what about the partnership? Are we just giving up?" Sophia asked. Declan smirked coldly. "Don't worry. I have a plan." Sophia applied some makeup to make herself look worse and then followed Declan to Samuel's room. "Dad, Jonathan hit Sophia. He's gone too far. Who does he think he is? How can he hit Sophia in our house? If Olivia secures the partnership and gains power in the company, Jonathan could end up ruling over us all." Declan complained to Samuel, "I'm not just doing this for myself. It's for the entire Harrison family. Sophia might be the first to get hit, but she won't be the last." "Grandpa, look at my face. Jonathan is insane. I was just discussing with Olivia, and he attacked me. You must stand up for me." Sophia grabbed Samuel's sleeve and sobbed. She didn't mention that she struck first. Smash! Seeing Sophia's face, Samuel angrily slammed his cup on the table. His eyes burned with rage. "Jonathan must be mad. Olivia has won. Why did he have to hit you?" "Dad, we can't let Olivia have this partnership. If she gains influence, who knows what Jonathan will do? He might try to turn the Harrison family into the Parker family. Dad, think it through," Declan fanned the flames. Samuel's heart skipped a beat. 'Jonathan hates us. He's the heir of the Parker family. He'll try to rebuild it.' He stood up and said coldly, "Heh, he doesn't deserve to control the Harrison family. Let's go get that partnership from Olivia." With that, he led Declan and Sophia to confront Olivia and Jonathan. Meanwhile, Jonathan and Olivia had returned home from the clinic. Jonathan went to the store with Ruby, leaving Olivia alone to continue her work. Bang! The door was violently kicked open. Samuel, with his cane, stormed in, followed by Sophia and Declan. "Grandpa, Uncle Declan, Sophia, what are you doing here?" Olivia jumped up and hurriedly gathered her documents. Click! Click! Click! Sophia rushed forward in her high heels, scattered Olivia's documents, and slapped her hard. "I told you I wouldn't let this go!" she screamed.
