Surrounded by the guests' mockery and insults, Olivia hung her head low and hesitated to step forward.
She was flustered and confused. She had no idea how to face this situation.
For five years, she had endured endless humiliation and scorn. She had raised Ruby alone without any help from the Harrison family.
Because of Jonathan, she finally had a chance to come home. But all the suffering she had gone through stemmed from him. Olivia was all messed up inside, and she unconsciously distanced herself from Jonathan.
She was scared that at this birthday banquet, she would face the same ridicule and insults as five years ago because of Jonathan. She feared that because of him, she would be despised by the Harrison family. She didn't want to disgrace the Harrison family again. The more she thought about it, the more anxious she became. But at that moment, a warm, firm hand unexpectedly grabbed her cold, soft one.
In a daze, Olivia looked up into Jonathan's bright, determined eyes, which were filled with affection.
"Don't be afraid, I'm here. Trust me!" Jonathan's voice was soft, and only Olivia could hear him. But this simple sentence made Olivia feel warm inside.
Tears welled up in her eyes instantly, and the distance she had made from Jonathan vanished instantly. She clung tightly to his hand.
However, the atmosphere in the main hall had become tense and almost suffocating.
"Olivia, why are you here with this trash of the Parker family? Are you trying to provoke Grandpa?" Sophia's face was full of anger when she saw Olivia, but inside she felt extremely pleased. She had been waiting for this.
She knew that Olivia would definitely come once she received the invitation. She was just waiting for this moment to humiliate Olivia and crush her dignity.
Hearing this, Jonathan and Olivia were both taken aback. Olivia quickly took out the torn invitation and explained, "Sophia, didn't you send us the invitation?"

Sophia, in her red high heels, walked straight up to Olivia, glared at her, and slapped her hard across the face. "You shameless wretch! Why would I send an invitation to a traitor like you? This invitation must be forged!"
With that, Sophia snatched the invitation from Olivia's hand and threw it into the trash.
Everyone was stunned. Then came the sneers and jeers.
"This b***h forged an invitation to provoke Mr. Samuel Harrison. Shame on her!"
"She's no longer a part of the Harrison family. She should get that little bastard and that scumbag out."
"Olivia almost ruined the Harrison family. And wasn't Jonathan dead five years ago?"
Olivia's cheek burned with pain. She clutched her face, utterly stunned. It turned out to be just as she feared. This invitation was not an opportunity but a trap!
Her eyes were filled with tears, and her fragile heart was shattered by this slap. But it also woke her up. 'The Harrison family will never accept me and Ruby.'
"Jonathan, let's go. I won't come back here again. Let's leave," Olivia pulled Jonathan's arm and whispered. She turned away and covered her face with her hair to conceal her tears.
But Jonathan didn't budge. He was furious. Sophia slapped Olivia in front of him. He had warned her to behave, but she didn’t listen and had orchestrated this trap. She had forged the invitation and then accused Olivia of forging it. What a vicious scheme!
At that moment, Jonathan's killing intent filled the hall. He grabbed Olivia, who was trying to flee, and stared at Sophia with cold eyes. "You, apologize to Olivia, now!"
His voice echoed through the hall, but the guests rolled their eyes and sneered.
"A piece of trash demands an apology from Sophia? He's insane."
"Heh! He's just a dog who barks at anyone after being bullied for too long. Who does he think he is? If he ruins Mr. Samuel Harrison's birthday banquet, he'll get in big trouble!"
Sophia crossed her arms and sneered at Jonathan, "Heh, you want me to apologize to her? In your dreams! Jonathan, you're just a piece of trash! And that little bastard should have died long ago. Haha!"
Slap! Sophia's laughter was cut off abruptly.
Jonathan's slap, like the hammer of Thor, struck Sophia's face with a heavy thud. Sophia's face was twisted, and a large swelling quickly ballooned on her cheek.
