Olivia staggered back a few steps, stunned by the sudden slap. Tears shimmered in her eyes, but she held them back and bit her lip to stay calm. 'Why is my own family treating me like this?'
Samuel entered with a cold face, leaning on his cane. "Where is Jonathan?"
Olivia took a deep breath, wiped away the tears, and tried to keep her voice steady. "He and Ruby went out. Grandpa, please sit down." Despite Sophia's humiliation, she instinctively brought a chair for Samuel. It was out of respect, not weakness.
Samuel frowned and snorted. "No need. I'm here to tell you that you are no longer in charge of the partnership. Sophia will take over. Do you understand?"
Olivia's heart sank. She looked at Samuel, and her voice trembled. "Grandpa, I know you have the right to decide, but please tell me, what did I do wrong? I put so much effort into this proposal." She couldn't believe Samuel would take the partnership away from her again.
"What, you dare question my decision? Don't forget, I make the decisions in this family," Samuel snapped.
Olivia felt as if she had been struck by lightning. She looked at Samuel, her eyes filled with disbelief and despair. Her heart broke completely. She couldn't understand how the grandfather who once loved her so much could become so heartless. She opened her mouth to speak but ended up lowering her head helplessly.
"Olivia, I told you you're no match for me. The Harrison family has no place for you," Sophia taunted as she left.
When they were gone, Olivia felt like the world had abandoned her. She collapsed to the ground but knew she couldn't let herself fall apart. She had Ruby and Jonathan to think about.
"Olivia, we're back."
"Mommy, I'm back. I brought you some yummy treats."
Jonathan and Ruby entered with smiles on their faces. But when they saw Olivia crying, her knees hugging her chest, their joy turned to concern. Ruby froze, and Jonathan felt a sharp pang in his heart.
Olivia looked up. Her face was filled with tears. She sat on the ground and let the wind blow through her hair. She looked at Jonathan, her voice trembling but firm. "Jonathan, Grandpa took the partnership away, but I won't give up. I'm going to prove my worth."
Jonathan set Ruby down. Ruby ran to Olivia, hugged her tightly, and wiped away her tears. "Mommy, don't cry. You still have me."
Jonathan's eyes turned icy cold. "Don't worry. I'll get it back for you."
He turned and left immediately.
As he stepped outside, dark clouds gathered in the sky. Jonathan's anger and cold fury were palpable.
'Damn Harrison family! They've disappointed Olivia and made her cry again and again. Olivia always thinks for them, but they never appreciate it. They all deserve to suffer!'
Bang!
In the villa, Declan, Maeve, and Sophia were celebrating their victory. Suddenly, the front door was kicked open with a loud crash.
Jonathan stood at the door against the light like a god descending to earth.
"Declan! Sophia!" Jonathan roared. His voice echoed through the villa.
Declan shouted on the couch, "Jonathan, what are you doing here? This is my house. You..." But Jonathan cut him off with a powerful kick.
Bang!
The force of the kick sent Declan and the couch he was on flying backward.
"Ah!" Declan cried out in pain. He clutched his stomach as he lay on the floor. His face was red with agony.
Seeing this, Sophia started yelling, "Jonathan, you're insane. Somebody help! He's a maniac!"
Smack!
Jonathan delivered a furious slap that sent Sophia flying across the room. She crashed into a table, and blood trickled from her mouth. Maeve fainted from fright.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Jonathan's footsteps echoed ominously as he approached Declan and Sophia.
"Jonathan, you're crazy! Don't come any closer. This is the Harrison family. Have you thought about Olivia and Ruby?" Declan struggled to get up. Sophia was too frightened to speak and trembled tearfully.
Jonathan's voice was chilling. "Your biggest mistake was hurting Olivia again and again." His gaze grew fiercer. He raised his foot, aiming to kick again.
But just then, about ten bodyguards burst in and surrounded him.
Declan and Sophia quickly crawled away and hid behind the guards. Declan, now furious, shouted hysterically, "Get him! Beat this lunatic to death!"
The guards charged at Jonathan, but he just frowned and attacked.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
In a few moments, all the well-trained guards collapsed to the floor.
Declan and Sophia were totally stunned. Jonathan was so terrifying!
"Now, it's your turn," Jonathan growled. His eyes were filled with rage. He clenched his fists and moved toward Declan and Sophia.
Just then, a voice from the doorway shouted, "Jonathan, stop!"
