LXXII: Not A So Simple

Dominic stood up and said, “If you are intelligent, you will leave this place... you really will not be able to win. I am on the side of the cursed witch, but don’t worry. I have an idea for her to lose too.”

The hunter lying on the ground nodded as she tried to stand up as well.

Suddenly behind Dominic, Nate appeared and asked, “How do you want the witch to lose?”

Dominic glanced at the vampire and said in surprise while smiling brightly, “You are the useless one that I saved a few seconds ago!”

Nate just stared at him, but he was clearly displeased with what Dominic had said due to the way his jaw was moving, as if he was grinding his teeth.

Instead of replying to Dominic, he looked at the hunter who almost killed Seraphim on the ground. The hunter was looking at them with unmasked fright.

Nate coldly said, “I think I heard wrong! I thought I heard that you had an idea for the witch to lose too.”

Dominic smiling, said, “You didn’t mishear… that exactly was what I said. Now be a good human, thank me for your pathetic life, and get out... believe me, it won’t cost me anything to reverse what I did and kill you in a second.”

Nate smiled when he saw Dominic and said, “There is only one detail! I am not a human!”

Nate got on guard and looked at Dominic, and he said, “If you think I’m going to let you hurt the witches, you’ve got something else coming your way!”

Dominic looked at the barrier and calmly said, “Well, I suppose there is no other option. We will have to move the plans forward.”

When he said that, he took a potion that he kept in his pants and took it. His body did not change at all. In fact, neither his veins turned blue nor his eyes darkened. The hunter looked at him and asked, “Does it have no effect on you?”

Dominic saw her and calmly said, “I am not a simple human… my body does not succumb to the side effects of these drugs… but I don’t have much time. My metabolism will burn this in minutes, so I have to act fast.”

Saying that he activated the power quickly, and the dead arm that held glowed and shot to another place. Looking at Nate, he said.

“I was hoping to have a little more fun with the hunters, but you got the business ahead!”

Saying that, he created a huge spear, and he said, “Now, that’s why I must get serious!”

Nate took a deep breath when he saw it and calmly said, “Don’t you get tired of hearing your own voice? It’s irritating!”

Dominic, without waiting for a second more, lunged at the boy to try to crush him with his force, but this one managed to stop the attack. Dominic looked at him and saw that he had much more strength than a normal human being, and smiling, and he said, “Hey, maybe you’re not completely useless!”

But Nate activated his power, wrapped his hand in shadows, and put it inside Dominic’s body, and he broke two ribs.

The demigod stepped back and, healing his wound, smiled when he said, “This will be more interesting than I thought!”

And with those words, the battle once again began.

Joshua was running through the clearing, approaching one of the stations where the barrier was created.

In a truck in the middle of the clearing, three hunters were looking at a map on the hood.

While in the truck, there was clearly one more person. Joshua knew that they were probably one of the culprits behind the barrier, and that was why this was his goal.

He calmly descended low until he was close enough to launch his spear and take out one of them instantly.

He had to be careful because they had those strange potions that gave them powers which made them difficult to deal with.

He made a calm plan on how to attack efficiently and take his spear. He thought of throwing it and using the sword to kill the other two. Without a doubt, this could be the best strategy, and he calmly prepared to move.

But before he could advance, Erika put her hand on his back, and whispering, she said, “You must wait!”

Joshua looked at her, surprised, and it was impossible for people to surprise him, and yet she had come this close.

His instincts relaxed with her sister, and when she saw her, she said, “You ended up with one of their posts, didn’t you?”

She nodded and looked at the next target, and he said, “That’s right… if you heard it, it is possible that they did too! They must be prepared for us.”

Joshua looked ahead and tried to smell, but he could only feel the people in the truck. If there was someone else somewhere, surely it was able to hide its presence from the wolves.

Erika bent down and took a short knife from her hand as she placed the blood on the ground. She said, “Let’s take a walk to take a good look.”

Saying that she sent her wolf running around the edge of the clearing to get a better view of the target.

Joshua saw her impressed and asked, “How can you do that?”

She, smiling, said, “These are the gifts of the tribe of the moon. You should be able to do it.”

Joshua looked at her and, shaking his head at her, said, “Nop, I can’t do that.”

She smilingly put her hand on his chest and said, “You are an Alpha, and you focus too much on that, that you ignore the other branch of your family. Focus on your maternal side, and you will see the things you can do.”
