XLVII: Fighting Back

1010 Words
But suddenly, Nate fell from the sky. Using his powers, he managed to take Eleanor and quickly plunge into the shadows right in front of those wolves. They all saw him disappear and reappear next to Seraphim. He has a smug smile on his face before saying, “You are free to move, friend.” Joshua smiled gratefully. He looked and said, “Time to fight back, eh.” Gerald was in a great panic at that moment. Despite this, Gerald still raised his claw to attack Joshua. But in a fraction of seconds, Joshua transformed into a huge Black Wolf who stopped Gerard’s limbs. When Gerard saw him, he could not believe what he saw, his body was larger than before, and his ferocity was terrifying. There was no doubt that this was the wolf destined to guide the pack. Freeing himself, he tried to run.  “Circulus Ignis!!” Edith chanted. Her eyes were shining with her magic. Just as she did, a huge amount of flames appeared surrounding the entire clearing, preventing the wolves from fleeing. Joshua looked at them and did not stop smiling. Gerard, possessed by anger, advanced at full speed to attack him. But Joshua, with a strong punch, hit him back. Gerard fell to the ground in pain and roaring activated two of the men next to him who, transformed into wolves, advanced against Joshua. This, with power, threw himself on them, and holding them both with one arm each, he smashed them to the ground, and releasing a roar full of power made everyone present panic. Eleanor buried her head in Seraphim’s chest, who was holding her, and the girl instinctively grabbed Nate’s hand and squeezed it. He glanced at her with a raised brow. With that, she noticed her gesture. As if she was burned, she released it and looked in another direction. Joshua, who was looking at the wolves in front of him, said, “You are not the Alpha Gerard, and neither is your father... you are traitors who conspired against my father, and now you will pay the price!” Gerard recoiled when the other wolves saw Joshua, and they knelt on one knee, transforming into wolves and howling at the sky. With unmasked fear, Gerard looked at them. Joshua, returning to human form, looked at Edith with a smile who, canceling her spell, returned the smile at him. Joshua looked at Gerard and said, “Go back to your filthy father! And tell him that when I get to my mother, I will take her men and take back what belongs to me! Tell him that there is no damn rock where he can hide because he will pay for what he did to my father.” When he heard this, Gerard was totally terrified. He fled to get away from there. The wolves that were with him followed him, leaving Seth alone. The rest could not help but obey Joshua. But Seth did it because he wanted to. “I don’t think I can go back!” Seth said with a wry smile. He added, “However, the others are warned, they will gather those who are loyal to you, and we will go to the moor of the moon. There we will meet, chief.” Joshua nodded, putting his hand on the boy’s shoulder with a claw tracing his neck slightly, and Seth, looking at that gesture, smiled. Walking away, he knelt, refusing. “No! It can’t be me, and I’m nobody!” But Joshua picking him up, said, “You are one of my most loyal friends. And you will be my voice when I am not here, guide everyone until we stop. We have a lot to do in that place!” Seth nodded and, looking at Eleanor, asked, “Are you okay?” The girl nodded and approaching him, and she said, “Thank you for not letting me get hurt!” Just as she said that Seraphim looked at her with a frown, her gaze was like strict mother who was silently demanding an explanation. Edith raised a brow at this, but Eleanor somehow got scared. Eleanor hurriedly explained, “They said that they were going to tear off my legs so that I would not escape. He did not let them.” Joshua stared at him and shook his head.  He crossed his arms over his chest and glowered at Seth, “And you still say that you are not worthy of being my voice?” Seth lowered his head in shame. “It’s obvious that you are the one.” Joshua pointed out, before turning at Nate, with a questioning gaze. Nate shrugged his shoulder and answered with a grin, “It looked fun, so I got involved!” Both shook hands. Edith smiled at him, and she proposed, “If you have nowhere to go, come with us. There are still many things to do.” Nate thought for a second, and then, looking at Seraphim, he nodded. Edith walked up to Joshua and, putting her hand on the wolf’s chest, and said, “I feel you seem different. It’s like,… you seem stronger and bigger!” He grinned before grabbed her by the waist. Edith yelped but, Joshua still lifted her towards him. Their chest was touching with each other, their gases were connected, as he said solemnly, “You rebuilt me... and reminded me of who I am. Thank you, Edith.” “No problem,” She replied with a grin. Joshua chuckled, and they both embraced. Joshua’s head was lowering, indicating that he wanted to kiss Edith. She was looking forward to kissing Joshua as well, but before that happened, an astral projection appeared. The witch who had asked them to enter the nest and kill the vampires said, “I knew I could count on you, sister! Come, I’ll see you when you get there. We have a lot to discuss!” And with those words, the team set off for their next destination.
