XVII: Not A Normal Human

1193 Words
Joshua looking directly at Victor, took a deep breath, and using his considerably greater strength, began to advance towards the hunter with speed. He raised his revolver and began firing shots in the direction of Joshua, who was changing places with speed to make sure that he could not have a fixed target. After several shots missed the target, Joshua counted six repetitions and, approaching with speed, prepared to finish the fight with one blow. Victor was a normal human. Withstanding the attacks of a werewolf was something that was beyond his means, but unfortunately for Joshua, this was not the first time that this hunter faced one of his race. Victor was a seasoned veteran when dealing with wolves like him. When Joshua jumped to hunt him down, Victor rolled onto his back, leaving the place. Joshua landed in the place where he was and, watching his opponent, saw how Victor when stabilizing his position, threw a small bottle on the ground. When the bottle exploded against the ground, it left a strange stench, which would be harmless to an ordinary human nose, but for Joshua, it was quite troublesome, his head began to spin, and his balance was seriously affected. He tried to move with speed, but he could not when he saw the walls and the ceiling of the church. It moved as if he were trembling. All his senses were affected. When he gazed at the place where the hunter was, he observed how he was using his sword to cut his abdomen, and then he kicked him hard until he fell to the ground. Joshua felt the imminent cut in his stomach, and when he fell, he saw how his abdomen would not stop bleeding. He wanted to take a second to breathe, but when he planted his hand on the ground, another stab in his back attracted his attention, Victor cut unceremoniously, and each attack it was more painful than the previous one. Joshua couldn’t bear the intense pain in his back. For some reason, the cuts with that weapon hurt so much more than any other, and when he looked at it, he said. “What the hell is that sword?” Victor smiled as he took the revolver and reloaded it, keeping the small sword in its sheath. “Had I known that I would come to fight a werewolf, there would be more appropriate weapons, but clearly they will not be needed!” Victor said with a taunting smile. When he finished loading the gun, he pointed his revolver at Joshua and then said, “My sword is consecrated. That is the reason why his wounds heal slower and cut more deeply, and it is a perfect weapon for all the creatures of the night, like your dirty dog!” Joshua, still bleeding from his previous injuries, nodded when he watched as Victor pointed at him. Just before he pulled the trigger, he said, “After finishing with you! The next one will be your friend!” Joshua looked at him and releasing a huge roar. This staggered the entire structure. When Victor felt the roar in his body, a strange fear paralyzed him when Joshua rising with speed, kicked his chest, making him fly for the air and land on the ground. As the pain fell, it was immeasurable but using his willpower, he raised his gun to shoot Joshua, but he was out of sight. Victor looked in all directions. The werewolf could not be far, the toxin worked perfectly, and when he got up, he said, “So you are an alpha! That’s why you can move, and you can use that strange roar!” When he said that, Victor spat a large amount of blood on the ground. “It will be the first time I have killed an alpha, and your pack will collapse when you die. If you tell me where they are, I will kill myself!” Victor roared. Victor kept talking, trying to find the wolf, but there was no sign of Joshua. He looked in all directions and raising his revolver, and then he said, “Come out already! No matter where you are, the result will be the same!” But the silence remained. Victor tried to guess where he had gotten, but for him, it was impossible, he knew how he could kill werewolves, and he had done that feat several times, but an alpha was a different game. They were more powerful and many times more intelligent, enough not to succumb to the instinctual urges of his race. There weren’t many ways to get it out, and being careless with an opponent like that meant dying, but Victor still had an idea. “You know! The ideal is to kill the witch and then burn her, but with your friend, I think I will do it differently!” After saying that, he was looking toward the boxes above when he said, “I think I’ll burn her alive to see how she screams!” But in that instant, another alpha roar paralyzed him, the roar paralyzed him for a single second, but at that moment, that time was more than enough. He tried to turn to hunt down Joshua, but before his turn was ready, Joshua was in front of him, digging his claws into his stomach. Victor looked at him, bleeding from the mouth and raising his hand quickly to shoot the boy, Joshua snatched the gun from him and kicked him, and he threw him to the ground. The man was bleeding deeply from his mouth when Joshua approached. He said, “Looks like you won’t kill any alpha yet!” The man convulsed as he lost his life, and Joshua, looking at him with determination, said, “I must admit that for a human, you know how to defend yourself very well!” While Victor died, Joshua watched him and making a small bow, paying his respects to that opponent. It was the first time that Joshua had seen such a competent human in combat, and smiling, he approached his corpse. He took the pistol, and the bullets from it, the small consecrated sword, and the hunter’s bag, among several strange objects that Joshua did not understand, were a journal. When he saw it, he knew that it was a guide to hunt creatures and monsters. With a smile, Joshua took the bag and dressing it when he said, “Perhaps there is something here to help us in our search.” And when he said that, he walked towards the door through which Edith had entered, but when a tremor was about to arrive, it scared him, so he accelerated his pace. He reached the point in the basement of the church where Edith stood in front of a huge wall with a symbol made in blood. When he arrived, he asked, “Edith, what is it?” She turned to see him when she said gravely, “Someone wants to release a huge beast!”
