LXVII: To Purge Sin

1010 Words
“What the hell did you do to yourself?” Joshua asked with a deep frown as he got up. He could not really figure out what was going on with this woman. There was a part of him that thought that she was a lunatic. She, smilingly, took her sword and smugly said, “I just did what it takes to purge your sin!” With those words, she made a vertical cut, Joshua interposed his spear, but when the cut touched the spear, a strong explosion distracted Joshua’s senses. The spear endured the impact, but when he regained his composure, he saw how the girl in front of him stabbed him with the tip of the sword. She smiled and said, “This wound won’t close so fast!” With sadism, the woman tried to embed the sword even more, but Joshua managed to grab its handle to prevent it. The girl delicately passed her hand over Joshua’s face, who looked at her with bewilderment, when the power that she had acquired made Joshua’s face experience something that could be comparable to exploding. Just as he did, his body flew to the ground. Smiling, the young woman looked at how blood came out of her abdomen and turned her back, and she said, “What nonsense... to risk your life for a filthy witch!” She was about to leave when Joshua stood up and looked at her. The wound on his face was beginning to heal, but the stab to her abdomen would take much longer to close. But seeing the young werewolf, she smiled, looked at him and took a deep breath, and raised the sword when she said, “Why are you trying so hard... if you escape, I am not authorized to chase you... I could survive.” Joshua looked at her and, with a satisfied smile he said, “Living without her is not life!” The woman felt disgusted when hearing those words. She prepared to attack, but Joshua throwing his spear, made her dodge it. The woman paid attention to the spear, believing that the werewolf would attract it, but in a few seconds, she realized that it was not the case. Looking forward, she saw how Joshua ran on all fours towards her, but without transforming. She threw two cuts to intercept him, but the wolf eluded them when they exploded near him. Joshua, releasing an alpha roar, made the girl paralyzed for a second. When she regained her composure, she tried to move the sword, but Joshua was already on her and only transforming his fingers into claws. He advanced while she pointed for his neck. The young woman herself received four sharp cuts on her abdomen, but the tip of her sword was full of blood. She had managed to cut Joshua. She spun to finish him off and explode the wound, but when she looked, she only saw Joshua’s bloody hand. He had covered her attack towards his neck with his hand, and now the cut she had caused exploded inches from her face. She fell to the ground, disfigured. Joshua walked over to her, and seeing her, he took the young woman’s jacket and dropped it on her face. That hunter was dead, but while his wounds healed, the man looked at the sword. A weapon like that was very useful, and taking it, he started to get to the first post of the hunters. *** Edith and Seraphim did their best to advance towards the tower, in the condition that they were, they had to avoid the enemies, but this was very difficult considering the number of people in the city. As they advanced, they tried very hard not to be intercepted. The poison was still affecting Nate, but with the spell, Edith had used on him, his death had been delayed. However, if Edith were to die, this would be in vain. As they advanced, at the end of the street, four hunters appeared. All with bows and firearms managed to raise their weapons and place the girls as targets. When they observed this, they decided to take cover, and just at that moment, all the attacks flew towards them. Hiding behind a car, Edith released Nate for a second when she said, “I’ve had enough!” She was raising her hands and screaming, “Globus Ignis!!” Her eyes turned dark, and from her hands, a huge ball of black fire came outshot in the direction of the hunters, and they were thrown away from her. The hunters began to twist when the flames touched them, and on the other side, Edith watching towards the other end raised his hands again and repeated the spell she fired. The fireball struck again, and the result was the same. The exhausted young woman took Nate’s hand and raised him, trying to move forward. When a small huntress with blue jean shorts appeared in front of her and raised her hands, she said, “Globus Ignis!” Her veins showed a bluish color, and her eyes were darkened. Clearly, the young woman was using a spell that did not belong to her. When she said that, a huge orange fireball appeared in her hand, and with force, she threw it in Edith’s direction. Seraphim, surprised by what that woman had done to her, raised her hand as soon as she could and said, “Praesidum!!” A huge barrier appeared in front of them, but when the ball hit, it broke apart, sending them shooting backward. The three of them fell to the ground. Edith looked at Nate, who was still unconscious, and standing up, she saw how the huntress smiled. Seraphim got up and raised both hands, saying, “You will pay for this... Pruvia Worship!!” As she said that, a white seal appeared in front of her, and a huge amount of knives shot out in the direction of the young woman. This, surprised, raised her hands and screamed. “Praesidum!!”
