Joshua took a deep breath and looked at his mother. He tried to think of a possible solution, two hundred magical creatures were too much even for him, but looking at the altar, he asked, “Do you have altars for all the gods?”
His mother looked at him, and smiling, said, “All those related to the moon!”
“When a witch touches one of those altars of hers, is her powers magnified like yours?” Joshua said while looking at Eleonor.
She smiled and nodded. At that moment, Joshua took a deep breath and said, “Well! This is what we will do!”
And with those words, he explained his idea. With some luck, it would be enough to be able to rescue his love, and with her, to be able to protect the sanctuary that was under great danger.
Nate moved through the shadows, trying to finish off enemies while the two witches made their way to the central tower. He could be hidden with ease and noticed how the hunters entered and left the dome that surrounded the city.
Moving through the shadows, he chased after a group of hunters, all armed with crossbows that were preparing to cut off the advance of the witches, but before they could reach their destination, Nate appeared in their shadows and attacked them.
The first hunter he captured knocked him unconscious with a lock to his neck, while the next, he hit him on the spine. He let out a scream that alerted the others, and Nate, taking that subject’s neck, entered his shadow, crashing him hard against the ground.
Coming out of the shadows of the others, he consistently beat them unconscious. Getting up, he looked around him, and when he was about to leave, a voice questioned, “Why don’t you kill them?”
Nate looked at her. A woman in a white shirt and an ankle-length pink skirt walked towards him calmly. She didn’t give off that hunter vibe, but Nate knew underestimating her could be his downfall.
“I don’t want to kill anyone who kills monsters!” He said in disdain while looking at her.
She looked at him confused and clarified, “Then why are you helping those witches?”
Nate looked at her, and with all the calm in the world, he said, “They are not bad people! They actually did your job for you recently. They cleaned up a nest of vampires that hunted humans!”
She looked up at the commotion near the center of town and said, “That is admirable! But they are still witches, and we have to finish them!”
“You do understand the irony of what you are saying, don’t you?” When he said that, the young man looked at her firmly and added. “You hunters use magic to hunt things... how are you different from them?” Nate replied with a grin while looking at her.
She was staring at him and replied, “We only believe in the one god, and we are not pledging allegiance to pagan gods!”
Nate couldn’t contain his laughter when he looked at the girl and saw her get angry and tell him.
“Does my faith amuses you?”
He raised his hands and vigorously shook them, and he said, “Of course not. It seems so silly to me, you believe in your god, and that’s perfect, but you use the magic of other deities. Doesn’t that seem contradictory to you?”
The girl with speed pounced on him, and the young man was surprised at the speed that the woman could reach, and in a short time, she was by his side. Pulling an ornate dagger from inside her skirt, she tried to cut him, but Nate backed away just in time.
The girl was turning the knife masterfully, and trying to reach it, Nate got into the shadow of a pole to emerge in another shadow on the other side of the street.
She looked at him and, surprised, she said, “You talk about not wanting to hurt anyone who marries monsters... what about you, what are you?”
Nate smiled and, looking at his hand, said, “I think I’m half-vampire, half-human, but I’m not sure!”
She looked at him, and with a smile, she said, “Those powers you have are diabolical!”
Nate smilingly looked at her and casually said, “I agree with you, but I really can’t do anything about this way I was born… are you going to punish me for being born like this?”
The woman felt another wave of anger, and from inside her skirt, she took out a revolver that pointed at Nate. He ran towards her and, crouching on the ground, darkened his hand to put it in his own shadow.
The girl pointed it directly at the head, but from the shadow of the young woman, a hand went up to take the revolver from her and put it in the shadow.
Nate, taking his hand out of the shadow, had the revolver that was previously in the hunter’s hands, and pointing at her, he said, “Tell me something! If I shoot you with this, will you die?”
She stared at him, and he calmly continued, “Because it seems that your weapon is made to kill anything, not just evil creatures!”
The woman in front of him looked very upset.
Her anger rose easily, and she, looking at Nate, asked, “You think you are very funny, don’t you?”
He took the bullets out of it by stirring and looked at her, calmly said, “No! I don’t feel like it is funny. I just don’t like hypocrisy!”
After saying that, he dropped the revolver to the ground and turned his back to the young woman. He said, “Better get out. They won’t be so lenient with you!”
