LXV: Darren VS Dominic

1026 Words
Darren taking a deep breath pulled a short sword from his belt and, looking at him, said, “The truth is that you are too useful to let you die... but first, I’ll finish him off!” Dominic looked at him with a raised brow. He was smiling when he said, “That’s interesting. Come on!” Darren ran up the wall towards Dominic, and calmly the man could move across the surface of the wall as if he was standing on the ground without issue. On the other hand, Dominic, supported by the spear embedded in the facade, watched as he cut the distance towards him. Dominic created a sword and smiled, and he said as he darted towards Darren. “I just need one attack!” As he threw himself at full speed, his body rose against the facade as his sword was about to pierce Darren’s body, but before arriving, the hunter jumped to avoid his attack. When he jumped, he got very far from the building, and it was impossible for Dominic to attack him. However, from where he was, Darren threw two knives that were embedded in the man’s back. Dominic kept descending hard and ignoring the pain of Darren’s attack, and he stabbed his sword into the facade to slow his fall and watched in surprise as Darren landed once more on the building. Exhausted, Dominic created several swords that he stuck in that place to get up and calmly looked at Darren when the smiling hunter said, “Do you like my spell…? Reverse polarity. I can change the polarity of gravity in my body. Something like that!” Activating his power, the hunter detached himself from the wall and began to descend rapidly, attracted by the speed against Dominic. He prepared to receive it, and calculating the right moment, he launched a horizontal swing of his sword that intended to cut Darren, but in the last second, Darren remained static in the air. Just at that moment, he continued to descend to hit Dominic with two kicks that separated him from the building and made him fall all the distance to the ground to crash against the asphalt. Dominic opened his eyes in surprise, he had not visited the human world for a long time, but in just a few days, he had managed to see all the things that had been made with magic were impressive. The gods had reason to be concerned, and these creatures were evolving, so much so that even with stolen powers, they could give a demigod a hard time. Dominic got up and looked at Darren, calmly walking down the front of the building, and said, “And that woman happens to take away my powers... well whatever!” Darren lowered himself to the ground and looked at Dominic, and he said directly, “I think you understand that it will not be so easy to beat me, right?” Dominic scratching the back of his neck, said, “I’m really impressed. You, humans, are something to admire… for the first time in millenniums, and I don’t hate my human part. But this is all the end!” “Do you still have more powers?” Darren asked, stepping back to widen their distance and raising his sword preparing to attack or defend. Dominic opened his eyes and nodded, and he answered, “Yes, but I still can’t use them. That b***h stamp them. Anyway, that is not what I will do...” After saying that, Dominic walked to the front and said, “I am a demigod… we are not normally immortal. You have to achieve that immortality by making a god recognize you as its equal.” Darren looked at him puzzled, and Dominic smiling, explained, “I know that for you that is useless information, but I am telling you because it is relevant… for a god to recognize you, you have to prove yourself. I proved myself in combat and to be useful to the court of gods.” As he said that, the young man stretched out his hand and showed the blacksmith’s mark on him, he said. “I didn’t just create any kind of weapons… no. Also created weapons for the gods... but I kept the best ones for myself.” Darren opened his eyes and, getting ready to attack, and ran towards Dominic when he smirked and said, “Solaris! Dagger!” Just as he spoke, a golden dagger appeared in his hand, and Darren, reversing the polarity around himself, rose to get away from Dominic. But this cutting the air, opened a small portal where he entered and appeared up in the sky. Darren lost sight of him until the demigod landed on his back, piercing his stomach with a dagger. At that moment, Dominic held onto the wall as he watched Darren fall to the ground. Upon entering the building, he saw his arm completely charred and said, “Using weapons of gods without my immortality is insane... there were better ways to beat that child!” With those words, he looked up and began to climb, and he should get to where Sandy was. He still had plans for her. *** On the road that led to the city, two motorcycles were moving at full speed. One of them was Joshua. He looked at the city in the distance and said, “According to Eleonor’s information, there are three posts that keep the barrier up. If we manage to destroy the posts, the barrier will fall, and they will be able to escape.” His sister on the other motorcycle nodded as they both swerved to try to intercept the posts that raised the barrier. As long as that barrier was active, the people within the city would not stop having enemies. Joshua hoped Edith could hold out a little longer until he came for her. As he advanced on the motorcycle, his instincts fired, and seeing a different reflection, the werewolf stood on the seat of the motorcycle, leaping high away from it just before it was sliced into pieces.
