XCIX: Blood

Maximiliano deflected the spear with one of his claws and saw Joshua running towards him, his hands were unchanged, and the huge wolf screamed, “Come and end up like your filthy father!”

Joshua felt anger, but remembering the words of his father, he appeased her, and before attacking, he slipped through the muddy ground avoiding Maximiliano’s Claw and cutting both knee ligaments with his transformed fingers.

Maximiliano fell to the ground and, looking in front of him, felt Joshua’s claws on his neck as he said, “Give up your wish and recognize me as Alpha. Maybe I’ll let you live!”

Maximiliano turned into a man and saw it, and he said, “That weakness is what will lead us to perdition!”

Joshua, without waiting, turned his teeth into fangs and, biting his neck, tore Maximiliano’s neck with force. The man looked ahead, and his veins full of blood let out a powerful howl, Joshua looked ahead, and his wounds were instantly healed, and standing up, he could see how his body was restored.

Maximiliano fell, and his body fell apart. The consequence of challenging an alpha is that when you lose your body, it will be consumed. The essence of him went to Joshua, who in a short time was in perfect condition, and calmly and transforming into a wolf, he howled at the moon with force.

Everyone present was transformed, and the howling was accompanied by his pack. Those who were against and those who were in favor were now one, and all were following the one and only true Alpha.

Joshua saw them and, seeing Gerard said, “Set him free, and help his brothers fight their enemies!”

All the wolves got moving, none of them could challenge his authority, and now towards walking Gerard, he said, “I would like you to understand your position, accept me and live, brother.”

Gerard got up furious and, seeing Joshua said, “Brother? You just murdered my father!”

Joshua saw it and sighed said, “As he was a murderer to mine! Please cut this wave of hatred and be a family together again!”

Gerard got up and, seeing Joshua said, “The only thing I have for you, brother! Its Blood!”

And with those words, he lunged towards Joshua to attack him. Joshua pulled his spear, and it flew towards him much faster than Gerard moved, and with speed, he took it and penetrated his brother’s chest with a single thrust.

The White Wolf had his heart pierced, and seeing Joshua fall to the ground, seeing him, his eyes filled with tears and between sadness, he said, “If I had been you! My life would have been yours, and this pain would not exist!”

Joshua, with a spear in hand, said, “Your life was always yours, but you refused to live it. I’m sorry, brother, you can’t have mine!”

And those were the last words of Gerard the white wolf who in that place, that night died at the hands of someone who did not hate him.

Joshua could now feel the power that being a full alpha brought him. His feelings for the decision that Gerard had made were sad, but each one was the owner of his own destiny. Taking his spear, he watched as the wolves that minutes ago were against him followed his mandate without the slightest opposition. There was no longer any doubt Joshua was the definitive leader.

As he advanced, Mathew and Seth fell right in front of him. Seeing him, they both smiled and took one knee.

Joshua shook his hand and said with a smile, “Get up, you don’t have to do those things!”

Seth got up and, hugging Joshua he said, “With the wolves on our side, the battle will be won without a hitch!”

Joshua looked at him and then saw the citadel as the moon witnesses, and the members of his pack fought side by side.

Wasting no time, Joshua said, “Take care of this. I still have two problems to take care of!”

With those words, he began to run towards the mountain, his new senses, his new strength was something that did not stop surprising him, and sniffing the air, he could feel the exact position of the people in that place, many aromas he did not recognize, but Cecil’s scent it was clear.

He could see him climbing the mountain stairs calmly in the direction of the rock where his mother was.

He had to intercept it as soon as possible, but his nose caught something else, Edith’s scent was also unmistakable, and she was very close to someone or something. Her scent was quite disconcerting. For seconds, it seemed the normal scent of a human being, completely alien to magic and that world where they were, but then their scent disappeared, and he couldn’t find it.

Stopping, she began to deliberate, although her mother could not face Cecil, Edith did not know what she was facing, there was no doubt, for such an ambiguous person, the owner of that aroma that appeared and disappeared without a doubt had to be the person who was behind the servants of death.

Edith was the second servant of death that this creature would face. She had already finished with one of her sisters, and without a doubt, that was a situation.

Joshua trusted Edith without a doubt, but trusting was not the same as not worrying. Neither he nor she was sure it was that creature, and ignoring her would be quite problematic. His mind was full of doubts when a voice that he recognized quite well spoke to him.

“Joshua! Go get your mother!” He said the voice of Seraphim that sounded in her mind. Joshua looked up. Eleonor’s connection made it possible for him to speak with her and Edith in that same connection.

“Joshua! Help your mother! When you defeat that asshole, come get me! Seraphim Nate and I will take on this guy, whoever he is!”

Joshua took a deep breath, not knowing what to expect with that person was worse than knowing that he was really powerful, but the truth was that Seraphim Nate and Edith were such a strong group that perhaps he would be the one who would end up needing his help.
