LXIV: The Last Hunter

1004 Words
Many problems were coming, but Edith was not alone, reinforcements were yet to arrive, and the last battle was already approaching. The last hunter was on the move, and he would be the one to bring the battle to its climax. We would soon find out whether witches or hunters would prevail at the end of the day. One of the hunters contacted by the woman in the tower looked around, the tent was shattered, and inside it, a stout man lay. His body was inert, and his closed eyes gave the impression that he was dead. Despite seeing this, as an experienced fighter, the hunter was approaching slowly and cautiously, that subject had caused great destruction, but it seemed that the shooter of the building had been able to defeat him. From close up, the hunter took his communicator and carefully said, “I think he is dead?” From the tower, the girl could not see the body of that man. She was frowning deeply when she said, “Check it. Check his vital signs.” The hunter snorted. What he least wanted was to get close to that guy, but he couldn’t help it. That was the job, and he needed to carry it out. He calmly approached slowly, and with his hand, he tried to touch the pulse on Dominic’s neck. He seemed to be completely dead, when suddenly and without him being able to do anything, Dominic opened his eyes and took his arm. The hunter tried to go for his weapon, but Dominic using superhuman strength smashed him against the wall. He lost consciousness, and Dominic, taking him by the neck, lifted him up and said. “This will do!” As he went out into the street, the girl pointed her gun at him, but Dominic was lifting the injured man’s body. She did not know how this man had saved himself after the shots that she had managed to hit him with, but he was there. He looked at her calmly and walked, using the hunter as a shield. She could try to shoot him, but if she did that for sure, he would use the body of that hunter to stop the bullets, and that was unacceptable. She looked in all directions trying to find a solution, when she angrily said. “Cheater!” Dominic was approaching quickly, and he was almost at the entrance of the building when two arrows flew at full speed and embedded themselves in the chest of the hunter that Dominic used as a shield. He watched as another hunter attacked his friend without any qualms, and the arrows that embedded themselves in the body of Dominic’s hostage exploded with full power. Dominic shot out and was embedded in a wall when he saw the archer raising his arrows to keep shooting. From the building, the girl held her breath. She could not believe what she had seen, one of her companions had ruthlessly killed another, and on the radio, she questioned. “What do you think you’re doing?” But the man with the arrows began to attack Dominic without quarter. The demigod began to run towards the building where the girl was, and the explosions of the arrows that the hunter threw chased him. “Listen, Sandy, and you have to shoot. That guy is dangerous!” The hunter at the top of the building listened as Dominic went up at full speed. The man with the bow was chasing him, and when he reached the entrance of the building where the demigod had entered, he took a bottle from her pocket and swallowed it. His eyes crinkled, and without waiting for a second, he began to run along the outer wall of the building. As he climbed up, he smiled, it was the first time he used that spell, and for him, it was impossible not to remember the sorcerer that he had killed to get it. As he advanced, he was preparing his arrows to eliminate Dominic when, without noticing how Dominic went through a wall, he took the bow from him, destroying it in his hands, but not before kicking the hunter with force to make him fall. It detached itself from the building for a minute but then fell towards it as if the facade of the building was the ground, and he was able to support himself. Standing up calmly, he was able to plant his feet on the surface of the building, and looking at Dominic, he said. “You are an incredibly strong guy ... I can’t wait to make a potion out of your powers.” From the roof, Sandy, who was pointing at Dominic, said. “I have him in my sights, Darren. Don’t come near, and I don’t want him to use you as a shield!” The girl was getting ready to pull the trigger when Dominic said. “If I were you, I wouldn’t do that!” She looked at him, and without understanding, the reason asked. “Are you trying to distract me?” But Dominic shaking his head, said. “No! But it’s useless for you to try to shoot me!” The girl was two stories above Dominic, who was holding onto a spear embedded in the facade of the building. She smiled and calmly said. “You’re an interesting guy... but this is over!” Calmly, she was about to shoot as Dominic created a spear and hurled it upward. Sandy watched as the spear went up and pierced her shoulder. It embedded itself in the ceiling. The girl spat blood and dropped her rifle, her blood ran from the handle of the spear, and she, looking down, understood what he was referring to. From the ground, she had the advantage, but at that distance, with the power that man could generate, without a doubt, she was no match for him. Looking at Darren, the young woman said. “Help me…!”
