XLV: Ancient Vampire (4)

When he saw her, the Ancient one smiled in the shadow and said, “This leg will immediately heal, you stupid.” Joshua, who was now a bit more recovered, ran through the wall in wolf form to attack the vampire in the shadows. He prepared to defend himself, and he would jump with his only leg when Nate came out of the shadows and grabbed his feet with both hands to hold him. The vampire couldn’t move when Joshua, at full speed, cut his neck with his claws. The vampire managed to deliver his own cut to his son’s arms and Joshua’s abdomen to free himself, but the spear that was now in Seraphim’s hands flew in his direction until it embedded itself in his chest. At that moment, Edith, walking to the shadows, swallowed the grass that Seraphim had saved, and increasing her magic level, she touched the face of the wounded vampire to say, “Ban!” The vampire could not move. The enormous amount of magic that Edith used in her spell made even an Ancient vampire like him have to submit to her power and look at the ceiling. She pointed to the hole where the sun entered and firmly and said, “Patefacio Sursum!!” The hole in the ceiling expanded until the sunlight absorbed her and the vampire. His body began to burn, and soon the spell that held him would end, but Edith was not finished. Reaching out her hand a little more, she said, “Accelerate!” The sunlight shone with more intensity, and the vampire’s wounds were spreading so fast that his regeneration capacity could not subdue it. With force, the vampire was able to move again, and when he tried to attack Edith, the parts of his body disintegrated when he touched her. Everything on him turned to ashes, and he fell to the ground almost completely disintegrated. Nate came out of the shadows and saw him, and his eyes were watering when he saw the image of that defeated man, and crying, he asked, “Now, you’re not that evil anymore, are you...!?” The former, looking at his end, raised his eyes and, looking directly at Nate, said, “Child! Help me!” But Nate looking at him with hatred, raised his hand and said coldly, “Me!? I only have a mother.” And with a strong impact, he hit the vampire so deeply that he disintegrated instantly. His body turned to ashes in front of him, and his tears fell on the remains. Looking up at the sky, he saw the sun with his face pointing towards it, and he said with a bitter smile, “I did it, mom!” Joshua sat on the ground, his wounds had healed, but that did not imply that the expenditure of energy that he had had in that battle was not tremendous. Sitting, he saw Edith approach him, and looking at her, and he said, “Today, I almost died several times!” She smiled and nodded when the wolf rising put his hand on the witch’s cheek. She looked at him and, smiling, said, “Yes, we were all very close to dying!” But Joshua staring at her, said, “What would hurt me the most if I died would be not being able to see those eyes anymore.” They both smiled and kissed. Edith was getting used to his touches. Aside from that, with their recent fight, there was so much adrenaline in Edith that she just did not care about anything else. She was just happy they won the fight. “Stop it! Get a room!” Seraphim’s voice says in the background. Her tone was laced with disgust. The wolf and the witch smiled as Seraphim threw his spear at Joshua, who when he took it, he shrunk it, and seeing it, he nodded. They all turned to see Nate, who was now regaining his composure and walking towards them calmly. Seraphim was the first to advance, and offering a hand, she said honestly, “You saved my life, thank you!” He smiled and, shaking the girl’s hand, said, “You helped me fulfill my purpose. Thanks!” Edith walked forward, and she said, “You are not a vampire. Why did you call him father?” Nate looked at the pile of ashes on the ground. He dryly smiled as he looked at Edith and said,  “He was my father. It’s not something that I liked, but he was.” But Seraphim looking at him with a look full of confusion, asked, “How is that possible?” And Nate calmly scratched the back of his neck and said, “I know it’s hard to understand, vampires are dead, and they don’t have blood flow. So if they don’t eat, if they don’t suck blood, they deteriorate, but when they suck blood, all their organs are activated… all of them.” Edith nodded and, looking at the ashes, said, “So this man...” Nate nodded and, walking towards the ashes, said, “That’s how it is! He was with my mother and made her pregnant with me... but it was not something loving.” He then clenched the ashes glaring at it before he continued, “He r***d her, and from that sad encounter, I was born... That is why all my life, I had wanted to be able to take revenge for her. But I had never been able. Not until now.” They all looked at Nate, his hatred was real, and it was clearly reflected in his eyes, but controlling his temper, he looked at the three companions. With a somewhat indecisive smile, he said, “You guys are strong. But why did you get involved?” Edith smiled and nodded. Then she said, “Someone asked us.” At that instant, Seraphim remembered Eleanor and trying to contact her without success, and she said, “The connection to Eleonor was lost… she could be in trouble!” And with those words, the three of them prepared to leave. At that moment, Seraphim stopped and, looking at Nate, said, “Thanks again!”
