The cold began to bother Edith, who got up slowly from the floor. Her fatigue had taken hold of her and how she came to herself, but Joshua was not there when she looked over her bed.
For some reason, his absence caused a great concern in Edith's heart, and she got up faster than she intended. She started looking for him around the house.
She still wasn't in top shape, and she was stumbling around while her heart pounded.
Would the wolves have returned?
Would he have left?
What was going on?
Those were the questions that haunted the witch's mind. As she passed through the front door, she saw him standing just outside her house.
The freezing morning rain fell on his naked torso. His legs were covered by a piece of cloth as his bare feet touched the cold ground. He seemed to be in perfect condition, and he watched the rain calmly.
Apparition! This was the reason to save him! Edith said to herself, trying to control her heartbeat. Her eyes just could not help but appreciate the handsome view in front of her.
He has scars that reflected several of his past battles. Those just add up to his manliness.
More like werewolfness? Edith corrected herself silently, which she finds silly. She was still not sure why she had strange feelings for this werewolf, but Edith was too lazy to bother wondering.
At that moment, the man who was enjoying the rain turned his head to stare at her. Edith was curious. She returned his stare, and Edith felt how the man's gaze was lost inside her.
He looked at her with an intensity that she did not know, and as he approached, the world seemed to stop.
She wanted to speak, but her mind was fuzzy. When he was close, he placed his hand on Edith's cheek, the touch was an icy consequence of the morning rain, but her body felt a deep heat when she saw the figure of that sturdy man lean towards her face.
She backed away hurriedly as her cheeks flushed. The man in front of her put on a confused expression, and unable to understand what was happening, he spoke worriedly, “I am sorry! I didn't mean to scare you!”
Edith looked at him, but at that moment, the cold took hold of her, and almost losing the balance, she held on to a table in her living room.
The figure of that half-naked man puzzled her, but she had to keep her calm.
Vampires and werewolves trying to eat me while still respecting me is one thing! But this is different! Edith thought the way that man looked at her was different.
She had never experienced that kind of pressure in her life, and without knowing what to do.
“I want you to stay away from me!" She yelled with narrowed eyes.
He looked at her in surprise, and raising his hands in surrender, “I don't know if I can fulfill that request." Just as he said that a mischievous smile spread across his face.
Immediately, an idea formed in Edith's mind.
A perverted werewolf! Edith thought as she glared at him before looking in all directions as if trying to look for an escape. Wait! This is my house!
“What do you mean? I see that you feel much better!” She demanded, feeling even more confident to deal with the pervy ungrateful werewolf.
He grinned mischievously and answered, "All the more reason to reward you.”
“Huh? I don’t need rew-”
Edith's sentence was cut off as he jumps towards her. Edith backed away hurriedly. She was trying to keep her distance from the stalking Wolf when her body lost strength, and she collapsed.
But before touching the ground, two strong arms held her in the air, she looked at him firmly and thought that he would take advantage, but his expression had changed completely. Concern crossed his eyes, and with strange ease, he lifted her body and carried her toward the bed to lay her down.
What's going on? Edith thought curiously when she saw how the man walked around with extreme confidence taking some water and placing it near her.
She drank from the glass that he officiated, and he sat on the floor with his legs crossed and looked at the young woman with a smile.
Edith finds his smile suspicious, but for some reason, she liked the idea of someone doing something for her. Her eyes could not help but shift to the glass of water she was holding.
When was the last time she had someone gave her something?
However, it did not take long for Edith to realize that she was digressing. She glanced at Joshua, and he was still looking at her with a bright smile, chest completely exposed. The cloth he was using to cover the lower half of his body exposed his toned, strong legs.
For the love of Moonie, cover yourself! Edith complained silently as her confusion grew more and more.
Joshua, who was looking at her with extreme intensity, said, “Thanks for saving my life!”
She looked at him. Edith sat on the bed, “You don't have to worry. I didn't do much.”
“Taking the dagger out of my stomach seems like a big deal. You put yourself in danger," he said in a lower tone as if he was repressing his emotion.
Edith frowned. Her instinct was telling her that he was not happy for some reason. Her eyes suddenly widened when she realized something. So she watched him curiously.
How do you know that? She wondered in her mind, unable to ask the question with her voice.
He calmly responded to her thought as if she had vocalized it.
“I found you fainted and with the dagger in your hand! So I knew that you were the one who saved me.”
And you left me lying on the ground? How gallant? She thought as she watched unhappily.
He looked at her calmly and responding again to the thought she said.
“I was overwhelmed. I didn't pick you up for that reason. Now I understand that I should have...” Joshua seemed confused as if something was going on in his mind.
“You do not have to do anything! In fact, since you're better, you can leave whenever you want,” She calmly said as he looked at her.
"In that case, I will never leave,” Joshua replied with a confident smile, “I'm sorry, but I couldn't get away from you right now.”
She looked at him in confusion, and him looking at her completely puzzled face, continued seriously.
“This happens to us once in a lifetime. Werewolves are condemned to search for a soul that shares our loneliness. That is why we are always melancholic. And it happened to me. I found you!”
“What are you talking about!?” Edith asked, completely bewildered, her heart pounding.
“Succumbs igniea! You are my partner! My soul is yours!” Joshua declared as he stood up to his full height.
The words of that man fell into her ear like loud beeps that disturbed her reality.
It was an absurd concept that she knew at one point would never be related to her.
Yet, in the eyes of this werewolf, a feeling completely alien to her world appeared, showing her the strength of a heart that she did not believe existed.
