CI: Other Ways to Die

1011 Words
Edith walked through the darkness of the cave, the corridors were well decorated, but all the torches that gave light to that place were out, the cave was dark, and only the reflections of the moon illuminated certain places. Edith could feel Joshua’s presence on her. The new force she had found was a haze, and that made her happy, now she was a complete alpha, and her mission was controlled. She, on the other hand, was also reaching a turning point, until now she had not seen her enemy, but strangely enough outside she could feel him, she knew he was close although she couldn’t know where, as far as Edith respected he could be by her side, and she couldn’t know he was there, that person was an enigma. Her breathing intensified when in her mind, Eleanor said, “Don’t worry, we are with you. Even if he tries to surprise you when he captures his mind, he will not be able to find you!” Edith took a deep breath. She wasn’t so sure that would work, but at least having her friends with her reaffirmed her calm. Edith was looking in all directions when she calmly asked, “Eleonor, I can feel it close! Can’t you grasp his mind yet?” She waited for the answer, but it was not Eleonor who spoke in her own mind. Instead of her, a male voice that she did not know, but she recognized on the spot, spoke, “No! Eleonor won’t be able to find my mind! But I appreciate the effort!” Edith stopped instantly. In other places in the cave, Seraphim and Nate also heard the message. Actually, that was a strange creature, as she could simply escape from the magic of Eleonor. The clairvoyant young woman took a deep breath and said, “How can you enter this line of communication!” The man, with a laugh, let the question slip when he said, “Edith! You are a servant of death... Tell me something! In your experience, who would be a better sacrifice from your friends?” Edith opened her eyes, but something surprised her. As she turned her face, she watched as a man with white hair grabbed her by her neck and slammed her against the wall, stopping all her movement. Edith could not feel the oxygen entering her body, she tried to speak, but her voice did not come out of her throat, the grip was not completely strong, but it prevented the witch from using her powers. The man with white hair and light eyes approached her face, and with a whispering voice, he said, “This is the second time that one of yours has fallen into my hands! When I’m done with you, I’ll go for your sisters too!” Edith, upon hearing that, raised her leg with force to strike a knee in the abdomen of this man, but he did not flinch a bit from her blow. When she saw her, she said, “I must admit that you have more fighting spirit than your sister! By now, she would be begging for mercy!” Edith angrily raised her hand with force and hit the neck of that enemy, he fell back, and while he was doing it, he was backing away. When Edith raised her hands and placed her black eyes, she prepared to use the death spell. The man opened his arms to receive it, and his gesture made the young witch stop when she was looking at her. She said, “What’s wrong, Edith? She uses your spell to kill me with a single attack. Come on, and I know what you want!” She stared at him. The oxygen had not yet fully entered her body, but she was already regaining her composure and getting up. She said, “It is you who killed my sister… but you didn’t kill her. You stole her existence! You have blocked my death spell since I started to chase you, giving stamps to all my enemies to disable my magic, and now you want me to throw it at you...” The man opened his eyes and, looking to the sides of her, said, “This is impressive. You should have the title of the most intelligent, and not your sister... Brilliant, if that’s what I need, I need you to cast your death spell on me.” Edith was stunned, but shaking her head, she said, “There are better ways to kill!” And with those words, she clenched her fist and shouted, “Ferrume!” And she, with those words, she threw a powerful blow that bridged the distance between them in just a fraction of seconds until she completely pierced him. The man backed away with a hole in his chest where his heart should be. His chest was bleeding deeply, and then in a few seconds his mouth as well, the wound was prominent, and the backward collided with one of the walls of the cave, leaving a huge bloodstain as he slid down to a sitting position and seeing Edith wink and in that point where it has died. Edith heavily breathed as she saw the corpse of the man with a mocking smile on the ground. She could know that he was dead. She had seen many corpses in her life, and this one was no different. She got closer and looked at his eyes and placing her hands on the man’s neck did not feel any pulse, she did not understand how she could beat him so fast, but he was taking her hands and seeing her directly, she said, “It is a little difficult to understand isn’t it?” Edith couldn’t believe her eyes when the white-haired man stood up again and forcefully threw her towards the wall behind her. Edith felt the impact, but that was nothing, her surprise at seeing her enemy walking was even more incredible than any damage he could cause her.
