Ayla POV I wake before sunrise. For a moment I don't move because today of all days I do everything I usually avoid doing to avoid getting punished. I remain on the bed and wait, listening for the sound that usually follows my waking up. I wait for footsteps coming from the corridor, loud and heavy, a door slamming open or my name shouted angrily from downstairs but nothing comes. My life is usually chaotic. I've never been allowed to exist in a peaceful environment. I’m usually required to stay still, small and quiet while they continuously create and cause chaos around me.
