When I woke up in Iniko’s shirt, lying in our bed, I wasn’t surprised. What did surprise me was that he wasn’t there. I know enough about Iniko’s possessiveness to know he wouldn’t have wanted me to be alone while I was unconscious.
I looked around, realizing that he hadn’t bathed me, so something must have come up, and that’s when I saw the note.
My heart felt like it stopped before beginning to race frantically. They’re going to tell him without me there to help calm him.
