Playing With Fire

Chapter 17

Its been a week and we've been staying in Tate's territory until we get things situated. Tate and Hakan have been acting odd towards each other and are refusing to sleep in the same bed with the three of us together. I still haven't finished the mating process with Hakan, he makes up an excuse every time things between us get too heated. It's infuriated. After the second day of trying I gave up and got my own room. They will have to beg me if they expect me to acknowledge them now. 

Jax and Yadira are coming today, they're all caught up on the situation. Tate promised them their own house and I've already furnished it for them. They found out the baby was indeed a boy. Henry is his name, Henry Skyler to incorporate both of us. I'm honored

My body is fighting me to keep away from my mates. I'm sore and even seeing them today has sent my body into overheat mode. I swear I had a hot flash seeing Hakan training when I passed my window. 

I collapsed on the bed frustrated. A cold shower will help, hopefully....

I've been waiting at the border for Jax for an hour, something seems off but when I called he said Yadira stayed with her parents while he gets the house ready, despite me saying it already was and that he would be here soon.

After another 15 minutes he finally pulled up to the border, I hopped in the car and drove to his new house in silence, we mind linked instead.

"So two mates huh?" Jax mind linked

"Yeah it's been fun.." 

"Well you've mated with Tate, I see his mark. What about Hakan?"

"He avoided me for 2 days so I shut him and Tate out until they figure out whatever is going on with them."

I rolled the window down suddenly feeling hot.

"Whats that smell?" Tate asked out loud looking over to me.

I smelled the air, only smelling him. Which smelled sweet, he usually smells like sour food anymore after what happened between us and him being mated right after. 

I shrugged my shoulders and looked back out the window.

(Flashback)

"What do you mean you found your mate?" I yelled at Jax.

We were in our apartment, in my room arguing about him finding his mate just as we were trying to give us another try.

"Yeah." He rubbed the back of his neck. "It was sudden, but she's more than I ever expected Skai. I 'm so sorry."

"This is s**t Jax.." I sighed and plopped down n the bed.

"You're not over her yet, we agreed to give US another try but deep down its always been her there!" He said, anger rising in his voice. 

He was right. I was in love with Jax, he was my end game, or so I thought. But Hen was always there, every fight we had, every moment of happiness, his sister was there and I fell for her too. It was a shitty situation and neither deserved it. Jax was my first, although no one knows that. I lied and said I wasn't a virgin, I was. After Jax I had only slept with 1 other man and as soon as it happened I regretted it, I stuck with women after that. 

"Get out."

That was the last time I seen Jax before finding Henly dead.

"Alpha?" I jerked awake from my memories and looked over at Jax.

"Sorry Jax, I haven't been feeling good lately." 

He nodded and got out of the car, once we were inside I showed him the house and left him to get situated and showered. 

I made my way to the sink. My body felt like it was dehydrating. Why did I feel so thirsty, Goddess!

"You okay?"

I looked up from the sink and my mouth started watering at the sight. Jax was shirtless with a towel wrapped around his waist.

"Goddess Skai, what is wrong with you?!" He threw a pillow at me making my jump back surprised. He was laughing and his laugh sounded angelic. What the actual f**k, I swear if I get a third mate I'll off myself here.

"You're drooling, get a hold of your self. " He laughed as he passed the table and bent in the fridge for a bottle of water. His body tensed as the closeness and I heard him sniff the air.

"f*****g hell Skai, you're in heat. I'm calling your Alphas.." He went for his phone but I grabbed his wrist stopping him.

"No, I don't get heats Jax, remember?" I'm half human, I never had a heat before so why did he think I was going through one now. 

"I smell it all over you, same way Yadira smells, but yours is different. Maybe you're not but I'm not risking it. You need to lay down or something."

I made my way over to the couch and lay down. My body was burning up and I felt sweat dripping off me, it was gross. I also couldn't stop smelling Jax, goddess he smelled like dark chocolate. Ew no, Jax never smelled this good. UGH what was going on!? I was about to ask Jax for more water when my body started shaking and my vision blurry. I heard Jax yelling my name but I couldn't feel anything around me, my eyes rolled into the back of my head before I passed out from the heat.

'You're body is reacting to only being partially mated Skai, Tate and Hakan are feeling it as well but not the the affect you are since you are also going through your first heat. It'll pass, but only your mates can help. They'll be there when you wake up, now wake up...." The distant whisper disappeared and I opened my eyes.

 I was in Tates room on his bed with my mates laying on each side of me fast asleep. I felt the warmth radiating off their bodies, making mine heat up even more. I needed to complete this bond between us before my body started shaking again, but I felt like it wasn't just Hakans mark that my body needed. We all needed each other, I understood now.  They're mates too, if they don't complete their bond none of us will be whole. 

Now to wake the beasts.
