I’d barely slept at all during the night. Thoughts of having Ember living right in my backyard had my s****l fantasies running wild. I did realize they were only fantasies, though.
If Ember took my offer, she’d bring her daughter along too, which would mean I would have to watch how I acted. With only a little over a month until my thirtieth birthday, I felt that it was time to start acting more like an adult anyway. And having a kid around might turn me into a better influence.
A man can hope.
With nothing to do at home, and since I was wide awake, I went to work early. As the resort’s head manager, I’d had my office put at the very top of the building, on the fifteenth floor. Built right in the middle of the floor, I had an amazing view of the downtown skyline. A
