Ember’s actions caught some teacher’s attention, and she rushed toward us. “Excuse me! Excuse me, please!”
Ember’s eyes blazed as she turned to look at the woman who had dared approach us. “What do you want?”
“For you to take this elsewhere, Miss Wilson.” She looked at me with accusing eyes. “This is not the place for whatever is going on here. At least watch your language around the children.”
“You’re right,” I said. “I’m sorry. We’ll get going.”
