Carter held contempt for Black Hawk from the bottom of his heart.
This pesky bastard, all he can do is to flee when it comes to real battle.
Since their short encounter last night, Carter already knew the level of Black Hawk's strength. Black Hawk might be almighty in this city but when he starts to challenge a hitman like Carter, that is suicidal.
Normally, Carter does tut with people like this before killing them but since his employer's job is at stake, he should hasten things.
"You local dog, you dare challenge someone like me?" Carter's voice sounded like a growl and his eyes shone like a predator.
"Hehe, this city is my home. You might be a great hitman but once you step into my city, you bow to me" Black Hawk replied arrogantly.
Carter looked at him with contempt, he dropped the books on his hands, he took a step towards Black Hawk.
Black Hawk understood what that means, without wasting time he shot multiple gord feathers at Carter.
Carter doesn't bother to evade those feathers. He released the green goo as they started emitting out of his body.
The feathers, although they hit Carter, all lose signs of life immediately they touch Carter's body. All the hairs on them dried up instantly.
Black Hawk did not run, arrogantly and courageously, he stuck up his head against Carter. Carter grabbed Black Hawk's head, green goo rushed into Black Hawk's body with no resistance,
"D-Deathface"
Black Hawk's agony scream rang out of his mouth and gradually grew softer into it completely faded. Tears of blood came out of his eyes and his nose bled.
"Splash.. splash.. splash"
Cuts started appearing on Black Hawk's body and blood were splashing out of it until his body dropped dead. He looked like he was attacked by an angry mob who cut him until he died. The cops surely won't link it to the super villains, they'll think it's the thugs.
Carter didn't take his hands off Black Hawk until he sensed him dead.
He withdrew his hand and turn around to Emma Eddie, the green goo emitting from is body faded.
Emma Eddie was stunned on the spot, dumbstruck by what happened.
She originally intended to find a strong super villian that will be kind enough to protect her and strong enough to scare her enemies away, she never expected Deathface to be someone who doesn't know the difference between a friend and an enemy.
The worst part is that considering how strong Deathface is, he is still serving some with utmost loyalty, Emma Eddie wondered how strong that person might be.
"Who is that employer? Deathshot? Fire mage? Invisible god? Or some strong undiscovered super villain, someone like Levin'' Emma Eddie thought
As the thought of those monstrous super villains crossed her mind, with the malicious intent that came from Carter, Emma Eddie's mind was frozen because of the potential danger.
Carter glanced at the third Emma Eddie and another glance at a further spot. Without thinking twice, Carter grabbed the lady and went towards his own hiding spot
Around twenty seconds after Carter left, a few more figure appeared at the scene
On seeing the dead body on the floor, their faces frozen, they seemed to be shared with how cruel the person who killed this guy must be.
One of them looked closely at the corpse and noticed the faint green goo coming out of the body.
"Deathface? When did he get here?"
"anybody can bi moved by the news of the Deceiver's Note"
"That mean those rumors are true?"
Some showed doubt and some showed fear and most of them doesn't want to believe but with the evidence on the ground, their fears are coming true
After exchanging gazes and carefully looking around, they used their own means to track down their target.
Their fear is not the strength of any super villian but the clash of the strongest super villains and its effects on this city.
Many more police cruisers appeared at the street entrance after that .
The sirens warned the citizens to be careful and some particular individual to be cautious but someone else took the siren as a sign, a sign stating that the crazy party had just begun.
Standing behind the window, blocked by its curtains, I lifted one side and saw the police cruisers dashing away; I nodded in satisfaction
"Nicely done, Carter" I said
"It's my pleasure, my Lord," Carter, who is also Deathface, bowed.
Even though Carter did not know why I sent him to collect all the information on The Deceiver, that didn't stop him from doing his assignment to his best knowledge and accepting the praise.
Even he doesn't know why he is happy for such reason, this is his first time of completing mission for his various employers
However, the scene looked a little different in Emma Eddie's eyes,
Before she arrived in the hideout, she was guessing which terrifying monster is strong enough to be the Lord Deathface, but who she saw was me who she separated from yesterday night
Emna Eddie felt the scene to be not as if she was dreaming but Carter's action told her everything was very real.
Looking at me who she didn't feel any malicious intent from, Emma Eddie doubt the authenticity of her instincts that have always saved her from danger
"Who are you? What do you want?" Emma Eddie asked out of instinct, her expression was filled with visible vigilance.
Although I'm not some terrifying legendary super villain, I am still able to bring Deathface under my control and that made Emma Eddie understand how she should behave when she is around me
It was the wisdom that she gained during her growth in the streets and also her Incredible gift to sense who is stronger and who is dangerous.
"Me? Levin. I'm not doing anything, just investigating a case like I promised the police captain "
My reply was partially true though, after I sat on a chair.
