A c***k appeared on the purple barrier, fear was written all over my face at the thought of dying.
I can't run, this light is just like an apocalypse, unless it is stopped, it won't stop.
If no one stops the light, it definitely is going to consume this city and who knows, the whole of the north.
Then I remembered the protection that the guild gave me, it is meant to increase the user's chance of survival. I took it out immediately and tore it into two.
White light appeared on the protection and it burned, converting into white light. When all of the protection burns, the lights from it shoot at the purple barrier and start to repair it.
The petrifying light consumes the barrier but the white light repairs it with a faster speed than it is being destroyed.
The petrifying light felt the resistance from the purple barrier, it shines brighter and brighter and hurts my eyes even after I have closed them.
I covered my eyes with my hands when my eyes started to hurt me and then, everything turned dark.
Not because I closed my eyes but because the petrifying light deemed down.
Slowly I opened my eyes, I saw the massive petrifying light that consumes everything, now it is shrinking and retreating. The a heard some words came from the direction of the light
"Only you, are worthy to pass"
Immediately the voice faded, the light went off, leaving a scroll a few meters away from me.
The purple barrier is still on and the white light is done repairing it. After all, part of the barrier had been repaired, the white light deemed down and went off too. I was expecting it to turn into a protection but unfortunately, the protection can only be used once.
Instantly, I converted the purple barrier back to spirit energy, there are still a few spirits of the dead on it, at least there are enough of them to make sure Deathface still maintains his loyalty.
After all of the spirit energy and spirits of the dead have been absorbed by me, I looked around me.
The garage, the structure were originally made of bricks but now, they are all cleared out, reduced to the ground level.
Metals, glass , plastics, rubber, even the people that might be around, all of them were turned into sand.
It was by luck that I survived, I paid the price though. To get my spirit energy back to its fullest, I'll need a long time of cultivation in the dungeon and for a long time, it might take weeks.
The only thing that exists in this place is the scroll left behind by the petrifying light.
"It should be the Deceiver's Note."
I said to myself as I walked up to the scroll. As I picked up the scroll, a system message popped up in my vision
[Great Achievement! You survived the Divine Light; you are awarded 500000 points]

[You found a skill book, do you want to learn: Yes/ No]

"The Deceive? Does the Deceiver have more than one note? So this is the third note, could it be…"
While looking at [The Deceiver's Third Note], I was trying to recollect the information I had gotten from Emma Eddie before this and as the information comes to my mind, I related it to more matters
I closely sized up my surroundings with a keen gaze before making my move.
Although, I know the chances were slim, I still searched around the sandy garage for potential loot or information and when I made sure no variables were left behind, I quickly left the scene
The gunshots fired by the guards weren't exactly quiet and the brightness of the light will be so obvious that it will attract citizens attention and the police might be here soon
"I guess Paul will be very pissed when he sees this"
I thought in my mind and yet didn't have any intention to share the burden with the police captain
My attention was captivated by the name 'The Deceiver' the moment it appeared. I needed more information to understand this and verify my own speculations
…..
Very earion the morning Carter hadn't rested after pulling together and all nighter.
He was carrying books regarding the Deceiver that he got from all sorts of channels and was heading towards his own house swiftly.
He didn't know why the master he served required these books but he knew that when his master gave him orders, all he had to do was follow.
Carter was walking swiftly, his heart wanted him to return to his place faster but it didn't mean he did not notice the men who were following him
"Bunch of pesky bugs" Carter frowned
He knew the pesky bugs marked Jim because of his 'purchasing without considering the cost.
If it were any other time, Carter wouldn't mind making some more dried corpses and displaying them on the streets of the city but not today.
