Teegan's P.O.V.
Joel pulls me upstairs to our room and shuts the door. His mouth is on mine before I can say anything. I can't believe we're going to mark each other. I'm glad we don't have to do it in front of the entire kingdom but quietly on our own. When he pulls away to let me breathe, he smiles down at me while holding my face to look into my eyes.
"Are you okay with me agreeing that we mark each other now? We can wait if you want to." He asks. I wrap my arms around him, sliding my hands under his shirt.
"I don't want to wait. We were going to mark each other today at the festival anyway. I think this is even better. Now we can do it without everyone watching." Joel leans down to kiss me again, and my knees almost give out.
