In dollars and cents Attila Nagy did not amount to much. Especially since he went against his father’s advice and married – an American hillbilly from Kentucky. In lieu of a ring, he gave Kitty a gold necklace with an ivory chip. Only Attila knew where it came from and how special it was. The wedding took place in a Roman Catholic church in a mining town on the Ohio-Kentucky border. And this was before he turned twenty and before he finished college, which meant, among other things, that his vocation to become an astrophysicist would be on hold.
