CHAPTER 8It was not a Sunday, but a Wednesday on the last day of October when we walked to go to church in our Sunday-best or the closest thing to it. We were going to Papa’s church, the one they now called University Church, although it had other names in the past, like the Church of the Immaculate Conception. We were going to light a candle for Papa and for Mama. Official church services and Catholic schools were not allowed under Communism, since the government banned a all religious orders.
