“Stay back!” I yelled, swinging my legs over the side of the bed. My knees wobbled as I stood, my body trembling with pain and fear as I somehow managed to stay upright. “Don’t come near me!”
“Miss, please!” the nurse pleaded, stepping forward cautiously. “You have to listen to me, I'm not going to hurt you. I swear that no one here will, we just want to help you.”
“Why do you keep lying to me? Haven't you done enough? I have nothing left to give!” I sobbed, my voice breaking. “Just please leave me alone!”
“Fine. But just take it easy, please or you're going to seriously hurt yourself.” The woman pleaded but I couldn't afford to believe her. Not after everything.
