With a lot of force, she cut the man's head open right away. He put his hand up to wipe it, then put it up to his eyes. His eyes turned red right away. He didn't give a damn about the event. With one hand, he did a tight grip on Cheryl's thin wrist and tried to hit her with the other.
Cheryl closed her eyes in fear because she couldn't get away at all.
But the pain that was expected did not show up. A scream was all she heard.
When Cheryl opened her eyes, there was a tall man in front of her.
"Let go."
He took the director's hand, which was about to hit Cheryl, with a dark look on his face. The director made a painful face and naturally let go of Cheryl's wrist.
"Thank…"
Cheryl felt like throwing up before she could say "thank you." Right away, she bowed her head and ran to the toilet.
Brian caught up and saw this.
"What's going on?"
Cheryl's back was turned, and Kevin said, "Stay here and deal with it."
Afterward, he walked towards Cheryl without another glance.
Brian couldn't believe it.
Who was that woman? Why did Kevin get involved in other people's lives all of a sudden?
Someone he knew might be there.
Or…
Brian thought of an idea and wished he could hurry up and watch the show.
His friend, who had always been strange, had fallen in love at first sight.
Pfft! What is love at first sight? Did he want her badly?
Kevin didn't get what was said about him. He went after Cheryl and saw her go to the toilet.
Kevin was at the door and saw her hunched over in front of the washbasin, trying very hard to throw up. He walked in and patted her on the back after he thought about it for a moment.
Cheryl felt better after a long time. She turned around after washing her mouth.
Kevin asked her with a frown, "How much did you drink?" before she could say thank you.
"…" Cheryl.
How did that tone of voice sound? It was like a parent taking care of a kid.
"One glass." She put out a thin finger.
After she spoke, she gave the person across from her a serious look. The man looked good and was tall. In the show business, he might be in the top ten. She thought about this person a lot, but she couldn't remember anything about them.
He's not someone I know!
Kevin didn't say anything, so Cheryl could get a feel for him. He was very sober that night, but the guy in front of him wasn't awake at all. It had been more than a month, and no one had come to look for him. He thought it was someone sent by a business partner.
But the person who asked him to do something did not show up. He did accept the person who was sent.
It didn't make sense at all. There must be a problem.
"What are you called?"
Yes?
Even though Cheryl didn't know what he wanted, she still said "Cheryl."
The pain started up again as soon as she was done talking. She turned around and spit for a long time. She couldn't throw up anything this time.
"You threw up like that over a glass of wine?"
Was she being looked down upon?!
"No, my stomach hasn't been feeling well recently, which is why I have such a big reaction," Cheryl said.
Kevin made a mean face and frowned even more. In fact, he had been a little mad when he saw Cheryl drinking with that fat guy.
"Drinking when your stomach is upset?"
Cheryl only thought that what was going on was very strange. Someone she didn't know helping her out of kindness was already great, but why did this person sound worried and a little mad?
"Go to the hospital for a checkup."
"What?" Cheryl was speechless for a moment, but then she quickly said, "Okay, I'll go there later." Thanks a lot for what you did. Could I ask...?"
"I said go now."
Cheryl woke up, but the man had already taken her hand and led her out the door.
He led Cheryl after him in a daze. She stopped right away when she realised something was wrong.
"This gentleman…"
Kevin calmly cut her off, "My name is Albert Kevin."
"Mr. Kevin, I was very thankful just now, but I..." Cheryl said with a nod.
Kevin had given her a business card before she could finish talking.
He chose to lower his voice because he knew Cheryl wouldn't trust him. "Now is the time to get checked out at the hospital." You can call your friend if you're scared. This is my business card.
"…" Cheryl.
Cheryl didn't say anything else. She didn't realise she forgot her cell phone or keys until she got in the car. She followed someone she had just met, which was very brave of her.
Whenever Cheryl thought about this "first encounter" later, she felt like Kevin's beauty had totally swayed her.
Cheryl felt bad about what she did as soon as she got in the car. It looked like he knew what she was thinking. He got his phone out, unlocked it, and gave it to her.
"You can call your friend."
Cheryl let out a sigh of relief and thanked him before taking the cell phone.
Rachel was scared about her and made her remember her phone number. At this point, she saw that Rachel really did see the future.
She was lost for a long time, and Rachel looked for her. Rachel had a lot of questions when she got the call. Cheryl gave her a short account of what had happened and said that a kind man wanted to take her to the hospital for an exam.
"Who is that?" Rachel asked with doubt. What is his name? Some people want to do good things for no reason these days. You're not guilty. You could even help him count the money after he sells something.
Cheryl pouted and looked at Kevin in a strange way. She said in a whisper, "He said his name is Kevin." The man wasn't looking over, so she did. His business card caught my eye.
"Kevin?!"
Rachel yelled in shock. When she calmed down, she let out a sigh of relief and said, "That's okay." He's friends with my brother. Why does the business want to find me again? Cheryl, go with him to the hospital and get checked out. When I'm done, I'll look for you. Please call me if there is anything."
Cheryl didn't think something so strange would happen. The person who helped her out of kindness was a friend of Rachel's brother.
She gave Kevin the phone back after she hung up.
The car stopped making noise after that.
Cheryl was ready when she said, "Mr. Kevin, Rachel told me that you're friends with her brother."
It took Kevin a moment to look at her and nod.
Cheryl smiled and talked for a short time about her marriage to Rachel.
Kevin didn't say anything for a long time.
Rachel was the first person he had seen. For Brian, she was always busy, but his friend loved his sister Rachel very much. Since he talked about his sister every time they met, she could be thought of as a known stranger.
When he heard what Cheryl said, he remembered something right away. Brain always told them that his sister's best friend was poor and lived with a mean mother and twin sister.
When she turned 18, her mother told her to get a job and even took her pay stub. All of Cheryl's schooling costs were paid for by herself.
That poor girl was Cheryl, right?
Mother and sister who are mean?
Kevin tried his best not to show his feelings on his face, even though he was deeply unhappy for no apparent reason. He was afraid that he would scare Cheryl, who had been looking at him behind his back.
They both went to the hospital. Kevin took Cheryl to sign up, get a list, and draw blood.
Cheryl was waiting with a list in her hand. It had information on it that she didn't understand, but she was just a little stressed out. Because her body had been hurting so much over the past few days, she was starting to worry that she might have a disease that couldn't be cured.
Thought about something else and didn't hear the nurse call her.
Only when Kevin, who was waiting next to her, called out to her did she follow him into the consultation room without a person.
"Give me the list." The doctor put his glasses back on and called Cheryl.
Cheryl said "yes" and gave the list to them.
After that, she didn't blink while she looked at the doctor's face.
At first, the doctor frowned as he looked at the list. Then, slowly, his face became serious.
It felt like someone had a big hand on Cheryl's heart. She nervously twisted her thin, fair fingers.
The doctor looked at Cheryl first and then at Kevin with a bad face.
"Doctor, am I very sick?" Cheryl asked in a shaking voice. Has stomach cancer?"
Kevin felt his heart sink.
The doctor didn't answer. "Did you drink before coming here?" he asked instead.
Cheryl agreed and defended herself right away. "I only drank one glass before throwing up."
Cheryl was scared when the doctor glared at her. With a firm grip, she grabbed the corner of Kevin's shirt.
Kevin quietly moved closer to Cheryl as he looked down at the thin fingers that were holding the corner of his shirt.
The doctor saw this too. He turned away from Cheryl and glared at Kevin instead.
"The young woman is crazy." You don't get it either, as her boyfriend?"
Cheryl was shocked, and she responded right away.
"He's not—"
"You're still letting her drink when she's already pregnant?" What kind of boyfriend do you have?" It looked like the doctor was very serious because his face was dark.
Her answer was stuck in her throat, Cheryl. She looked at Kevin like he was crazy.
She looked confused and scared at the same time, and it was impossible to ignore.
Kevin could tell what her eyes meant:Did I hear it wrong?
Kevin was shocked too, but he was a lot less upset than Cheryl. He already had a plan for that night in his mind.
The doctor didn't care about how they felt. Kevin was given the list.
"All right, okay. Take her to the women and gynaecology department so they can check her out in more detail.
Once he was done, the doctor called the next number.
Cheryl followed Kevin out of the room like a doll that was asleep.
Kevin didn't say anything and let her grab his shirt. Even though there were a lot of people in the hospital hallway, he reached out and gently put his arm around Cheryl's shoulder to keep her safe.
He got Cheryl out of the hospital.
Kevin opened the door for Cheryl while she was thinking about what to do.
"Mr.Kevin, I might need to go to the obstetrics and gynaecology department to check again."
Kevin said yes. "I understand. First, get in the car. "Let us go to a different hospital."
Of course, Cheryl did what she was told and got into the car. Kevin slowly shut the door and then went to the other side to open it. She didn't respond until then.
"Why are we changing hospitals?"
Kevin didn't answer. He told the driver where he wanted to go and then pulled out his phone to call Brian.
Bryan had just cleaned up Kevin's mess and was now talking with Larry, the dinner host, about what happened today.
He got a call out of the blue from the person he was talking about. His tone was still teasing when he picked up the phone.
"Hey, CEO Liang, what's wrong?" Do you still have time to call me when you're with a beautiful woman?"
Kevin didn't want to wait to talk to him, so he just told him, "Go to the hospital now."
Brian didn't understand. "Why are we going to the hospital?"
"Arrange for a checkup?"
Brian didn't know what led to what, but he got up and told Larry that he had to go do something else first. After that, he quickly walked to the parking lot.
"Why are you doing it?" That girl from now? What is wrong with her? "Why is she getting checked out?"
Kevin was very irritated by his questions. "Prenatal checkup" was all he said before hanging up.
Brian was upset as he looked at the phone that was hung up.
Kevin was a really awful guy.
Kevin told the driver to keep going straight. It was almost bedtime when they got to the hospital for Cheryl.
They went straight to the gynecology department after following Kevin into the hospital.
Brian drove quickly and was on the doorknob when they got there.
