I feel like I've been crouched here forever. I lean my head against Xavier's still body, unwinding to face the truth. Tears continue to spill, as the realization that he's no longer with me, becomes overwhelming.
Suddenly I remember that Xavier wasn't Craig's last victim. Rather there were two more people. I know my mom was one of them, but I don't know who else he has. I know I can't stay here any longer. My mom's life depends on me getting to her on time.
