Chapter II THE sound of help, of someone gasping for air, made Bennet stop. He let the body he was feeding from drop to the ground with a soft thud. Someone was falling and Bennet, for some unknown reason felt compelled to help. Maybe it was the fact that he’d done more bad than good, killed more people than saved. Having been in the “Great Sigmund” for a few hours and already and managing to kill a dozen of guest . He didn’t want to. But unfortunately he had to. The hunger was so strong. It was all he felt. It was stronger than the buried emotions of guilt and self-pity. And perhaps, if he helped save someone, it would prove he wasn’t a complete monster or maybe he was but still he can say that at least he saved one person in his entire life . Which he was, he was slowly learning to accept the cold and hard truth of being a vampire. He softly ran towards the elevator and wen to the terrace. When he reached the cold terrace floor, he paused. He could hear a distant heartbeat, growing slower and slower. Alarmed, he leaned closer, looking at the end of the big building . It wasn’t completely dark but there weren’t many lights too. He still managed to see pale arms holding edge of something to avoid falling. He took a step back, gaining momentum he jumped. It was like some superman jumping from a tall skyscraper but he was indeed a super vampire and yes the hotel building was no less than a skyscraper and had enough height to kill whoever jumped from the top of it. He reached towards the silly human who jumped from such a tall building which appeared to be a woman, that he recognized her. Jules. His eyes widened and his heart started aching again. There was no way that he’s going to let her die, again. Before he could reach her she was already falling, but in the matter of seconds he caught her. He wrapped his left arm around her waist, bringing her up in his embrace. Jules tightened her grip around Bennett’s waist and snuggled her head in his chest. She was to afraid from heights and she was more afraid to see Bennett’s face because one thing was for sure he definitely wasn’t a human. Her heartbeat were getting loud and fast and for moment Jules thought that, she was going to die on his arms. Bennett made a smooth and super heroic landing on ground, of course this wasn’t the first time he jumped from a skyscraper but it was indeed his first time saving a human. He glanced over Jules beautiful face. “Ahh, she fainted” he laughed. And took her to his suite. Four hours earlier Jules was floating on the large crystal blue swimming pool. She was lost in thoughts, she was unable to straight her thoughts. She really doesn’t wants to end her life, but it’s seems that there is no other way around because she can’t lose herself for her father’s greed. And one thing was sure if she died, the Richmond’s would still take care of her family out of pity and this way her father would get what he wants, he doesn’t give a damn about his daughter anyway. But her brother would grieve on her death, and this was one of the reason Jules didn’t wanted to die, she didn’t wanted her dear brother to cry because of her. But after few years, Jules knew his heart would heal. She stepped out of the swimming pool looking damn sexy, with water dripping of her long golden brown hair down to her long legs, her lips red as rose and cheeks pale as snow, if anyone saw Jules right now, they will definitely mistaken her for am angel. She took a towel wiped her hair and wore a bath robe to cover her body. She was tired now. Way too tired, all she could think right now was sleep and never wake-up again. “I still need to decide in what clothes I should die in, I think dying in a black floral dress would look nice” she thought to herself. She went to her suite and change herself to her black floral knee length frock. Shen tied her hair up in a ponytail leaving some bangs off which made her look extra cute and pretty. She stood in front of the big mirror inside her luxuries suite and looked at her reflection. She glance to her golden watch on her delicate wrist and read the time. It was 2:15 am. “Ahhhh it’s a shame such a beautiful girl is going to die in the next 15 minutes” she said and let out a chuckle, a bitter one perhaps. “You can do it Jules, you are a strong girl, you can do it”, she started repeating this line like a mantra. Jules stepped out of her suite closing the door behind her and made her way towards the elevator, but there she saw someone she didn’t wanted to see right now. It was Ben, her dear brother. Tears formed in her eyes when she saw him, but she was a strong girl, she hide behind her warm smiling, using it as a veil. “Where are you looking this gorgeous princess?”, Ben asked curiously. “Your sister always looks gorgeous don’t forget that big brother” she said proudly making Ben chuckle. Seeing her brother smile weakened Jules, she had to run from here because if she was definitely sure of that if she saw Ben smiling once more she would start crying and cancel her plan of dying, and than everything will be messed up. “Ben, I better excuse myself, I have to meet Bryant”, with that she ran away, before even letting her Ben answer her. “weird”, Ben thought to himself but didn’t think much about what just happened. Jules hurried her way to the staircase so that she can take the elevator from the 43rd floor, her suite was on 42nd floor and the terrace is 110th floor. She got into the elevator and luckily there were no other guests too, because it was almost midnight and all guest were sleeping or having s*x. In 10 seconds she was on the terrace, the elevator door swipe open and a gust of icy cold wind slapped Jules cheeks giving them a light crimson shade. Jules stepped out of the elevator, slowly. “Ahhh- it’s so cold” she shivered and rubbed her elbows to create some friction. She walked towards the edge of the terrace and tilted her head, she gulped, hard. Jules was afraid of heights since she fell from the playground slides at the age of 6. “Jules-“ she address herself. “Are you sure you want to do this?”, she asked herself still looking down at the bottom of the Great Sigmund. She was on the verge of going back to her pretty suite, drift to her sleep, and wake up tomorrow and pretend as if this scene never even happened. BUT The image of her greedy father flashed in front of her eyes and tears formed in her eyes, because she realized that there isn’t any another way other than this. Without any further ado she jumped. She was falling down. And down. And down. It was all happening in a slow motion like it happens in movies. And suddenly she grabbed a balcony pole on the 35th floor. There she realized that why is she the one to die?;She hasn’t done nothing wrong to die and there she said to herself “I won’t die”. But it was too late to realize this great and amazing thing because no doesn’t matter that she wants to die or not to die, because she has to die. Sadly. She looked down and adrenaline boosted in her veins causing her to panic. Her hands were getting sweaty and in a second or more her hand is going to slip of and she is going to go up, to the dear creator. “Help, someone save me” she shouted. But there was not a single human who could hear her. “god, oh sweet god, please send someone to save me, I promise I will donate blood every month” she pleaded to God. And boom!, Her hand slipped, and she felled again. She shut her eyes tightly because she was too afraid to face her own death. But soon she felt something warm against her waist, she slowly opened her eyes and gasped in shock. She was in someone’s arms. And to her surprise that someone was Bennet. She grabbed his tightly waist tightly and snuggled deep in his chest. “This is a dream and my alarm bell is soon going to ring”, she murmured to herself and fainted
