“Which style do you prefer ma’am?”, the lady in her mid-fifties asked Jules. Jules received orders from her father and father-in-law to choose a wedding dress for herself, and here she was sitting on the couch of a big luxury boutique and staring at all those pretty dresses. It would be so good if she was choosing her wedding dress in the love of her life, she thought.
“Don’t you have something in black?”, Jules asked politely, making the lady serving her raise her left eyebrow.
“Black?!”, the lady asked curiously.
“Yes, it’s more a funeral than a wedding”, Jules smiled.
“You should dress pretty even in your funeral”, a sudden voice from behind came into hearing.
Jules turned her face to see the owner of the voice and to her surprise it was someone she knew but never met. She stood up from the couch she was resting on and stared at the woman before her.
“Stop staring, I am a little shy”, the lady said dramatically.
“Sorry”, Jules whispered, but loud enough to be heard.
“Hmm, so you are the one whom my brother is getting married too?”, the lady asked already knowing the answer.
Jules nodded, embarrassed.
“You know who I am right?, in case if you don’t, I am Charlotte Richmond, you're soon-to-be husband’s elder sister”, Charlotte smiled at Jules. It wasn’t a normal smile though, it was a warm one, a smile which Charlotte only offers to some lucky ones and perhaps Jules was the one.
“Oh yea, I saw your portrait in the Richmond House, nice to meet you ma’am”, Jules answered trying her best to remain calm.
“Call me Charlotte”, Charlotte said.
Charlotte seemed kind and different from Bryant, Jules thought. She looked out of the big glass window and noticed big black clouds in the sky. She smiled while looking at them. Furthermore, she loved rain because it gives a hope to her, plus it also reminds her that how her mother used to dance like a flower in rain. It was a very old memory, but Jules still remembered as it was yesterday.
“Ma’a- no sorry, Charlotte, can you please excuse me I actually remembered something important to do” Jules asked in a very soft tone.
“Yeah sure”, Charlotte smiled as she was already knowing that what Jules wanted to do.
Jules bowed her head and quickly walked out of the expensive boutique trying her best to not look suspicious though. She wanted to go out of the hotel, but it was impossible because her father has already tightened the security because he is afraid that she might run away from the wedding. An idea popped in Jules head and patted her back feeling super proud.
“I am a genius”, She giggled to herself and quickly took the elevator. She was so excited that she didn’t even notice that there is somebody else in the elevator too other than herself. She quickly pressed the key which took her straight to the terrace.
“Going to jump again, Ms. Flowers?” a voice came, making Jules flinch.
She turned to see who that was and to her surprise it was Bennett. Bennett Hawkins. She smiled. It was as her soul made her smile automatically, she didn’t want to smile though.
“Not today, today I am in the mood for dancing” Jules giggled.
Bennett wasn’t sure what that meant, but still he accompanied Jules to where she was going he didn’t know why he was going with a crazy girl who jump off the building one day and dances on the other day but still he did, because it felt right.
The elevator door opened, and thankfully it had started raining.
“Are you sure you want to dance?”, Bennett asked.
“Been Never more sure”, Jules shouted in excitement and step out of the elevator and swirl herself in the rain. She looked like a flower, Bennett thought.
She was dancing like there was wrong in her life and she was the happiest person alive. But she was still wearing heels though and the terrace floor was getting slippery though resulting in making Jules slip. She was about to slip, but Bennett caught her, she was in his arms now just a centimeter apart. Jules cheeks turned red, making Bennett chuckle.
“Why do you fall so easily”, Bennett asked?
“Maybe because I know that you wouldn’t let me fall”, Jules chuckled.
“Are you perhaps flirting with me?”, Bennett asked raising his right brow making Jules grin.
“Sorry sir, but I only flirt with humans”, she said making Bennett pull her closer to him, so close that her tip of the nose was touching Bennett’s nose. He’s so beautiful, Bennett thought.
“What do you think now Ms. Flowers?”, Bennett whispered into Jules ears, seductively.
“Should I be honest?”, Jules smirked.
“I guess so, yes”, Bennett replied.
“I am thinking that what is your skin care routine?”, Jules said pushing Bennett away. Bennett was stautue-rize for a minute until he laughed. Even in this lifetime she’s weird and cute, Bennett thought.
Jules turned away from him and raised her head up looking at the sky now
“how amazing rain is, isn’t? The drops fall all the way from heavens to intertwine with tears from a crying eye, to fall into the arms of a dying lily, to mix with the dust and sets its soul to rest, to calm a burning wound, to sing a racing heart to sleep”, she said. It was like her heart expressing her feelings towards nature.
“You are such a pluviophile, aren't you?”, Bennett asked.
“Yes, fortunately I am”, Jules said stretching her arms wide.
“Well then, let me show you something”, Bennett said and suddenly picked Jules in bridal style as she was as light as a feather. Jules eyes widened on his actions.
“Yaa what are you doing?, put me down”, Jules shouted.
“Hold tight, Ms. Flowers”, Bennett shouted back and jumped off the terrace floor.
