Time seemed to stand still when Finn kissed Natalie, and it felt as though he took her breath away. She closed her eyes as his mouth worked against hers, but her body was frozen in place as his kiss caught her by complete surprise.
All of a sudden, Finn stepped backward, running his hand along his chiseled jawline. His chest heaved raggedly as he tried to catch his breath.
“I’m sorry,” he said quickly, his eyes wide with regret. “I realize that my title with this company is putting you in an awkward position. If you truly don’t have any feelings for me, I’ll let you walk out that door right now, and I promise I’ll leave you alone forever. I would never, ever take advantage of you in that way. But if you feel anything for me, please stay.”
