“Mom?”
Finn rolled his suitcase into the foyer of his parents’ Las Vegas mansion. He decided to come visit his mother for the weekend, although his father chose to remain behind in Palm Springs. He didn’t even want to think about what, or rather who, his father was doing rather than visiting his own wife.
He glanced around the Mediterranean-style home where he grew up. The entryway into the sprawling estate was two stories, with a double staircase that let up to a balcony above. An iron chandelier hung high above his head as his footsteps echoed against the marble tile.
“Finn? Is that you?”
His mother, Julia, peeked her blonde head out from one of the rooms upstairs.
“Yeah, it’s me.”
“I’ve missed you!” she exclaimed, scurrying to the staircase to make her way downstairs. Her whit
