Finn had texted with Natalie periodically on Sunday and Monday, but it wasn’t until Tuesday night that he was able to call her in person.
“Hi!” she said happily into the phone.
“Hey,” he answered. “I hope it’s not too late there. I just wanted to hear your voice.”
“No, I haven’t gone to bed yet,” she said. “What time is it there?”
“It’s eight o’clock in the morning here in New York. Just got finished with my morning workout and I’m eating breakfast in my hotel room.”
“How did the meeting go yesterday?”
“Very well! My buddy was really interested in the proposal, so we might be able to salvage the Palm Springs deal after all.”
“That’s great! I knew if anyone could charm the investors, you could.”
