Ian shoved his hands into the pockets to stop himself from pulling Elizabeth back.
When she’d stopped and turned to him, her face almost seemed to glow in the moonlight. Everything around them was dark, but it seemed the moon thought she was the only living creature worth illuminating.
He agreed. So when she looked down, he almost tipped her chin back toward him. And he would have if she hadn’t walked away. He followed Lizzie, staying a step behind her as they trudged toward the house.
