Ian dusted off his black pants as he stood, then extended his hand to the man he had knocked into. “You saved my life.” The man took his hand and stood. Ian shrugged. “Look ahead when you’re walking, not at your phone.” The man scowled at him, while Ian smirked and walked toward the diner. He’d just taken two steps when another vision dropped into his consciousness. This time, it was of Lizzie. She was in her black sweater and jeans, pressed up against a wall. He dashed into the diner and out the back. He was certain she’d made it into the diner, so she must be out in the back alley. “Ian!” He heard her screaming right before he flung the door open.
