Anthony had basically ignored my existence in the house. He wouldn't even look at me anymore and would always make sure to show his affection towards Rebecca whenever I was around.
I remained in my room, for most part of the day, only coming out when I needed to. Rebecca and Anthony were now sharing his bed chambers.
I couldn't even remember the last time I laid down in the same bed with Anthony. He had asked me to move rooms, just a year after our mating, and my room was at a corner of the house where I couldn't be seen even if I came out.
Rebecca, on the other hand, had sworn to make my life miserable, as she didn't let me have a day of peace. She would always find a way to cause trouble for me, or make me look like a bad person in front of the servants and guards.
To them and everyone else in the pack, my status as Luna didn't matter, as they all loved Rebecca and doted on her. They disregarded and disrespected me every chance they got, knowing that I couldn't do anything about it.
They sometimes even helped Rebecca pull tricks on me. They would embarrass and humiliate me in front of people, and Anthony would blame it on me.
Whenever we had visitors from outside the pack, since I still held the position of Luna, I would be present, but so would Rebecca. She would always make it known to whoever was there that I was infertile, and that she was the one carrying the alpha's heir.
I had cried so much that the tears had refused to come out anymore. I had noticably lost a lot of weight, because I wasn't eating, and I looked like a ghost with swollen eyes and dark circles, but no one cared.
It had been almost a month, and the hate I was receiving from the the pack members and from people in my own home, was becoming too much for me to bear, so I decided to move out of the house.
I knew that if I remained there, I eventually become a slave, serving them for the rest of my life, so I would rather leave than continue to live like that.
It was late at night, when I packed my bags, after closing my room door, and headed down the hallway to the stairs. Just as I was about to go down the stairs, Rebecca appeared out of nowhere and blocked me from moving any further.
"Where the hell do you think you're going?" She asked as she gave me a dirty look.
I sighed, really not in the mood to play her games. She's always had the upper hand, no matter what I did, so there was really no use playing along or trying to fight back.
"What does it look like I'm doing, Rebecca? Move out of my way," I said calmly, not wanting to push her away.
"You're trying to run away now that I'm doing to you exactly what you've been doing to me all these years," She said and my eyebrows furrowed.
"What exactly do you mean by, what I've been doing to you? All I've done is treat you like a sister and help you in all the ways I possibly could, but it seems that too is a bad thing,"
"What?" she screeched. "No, Freya. All you've done is be jealous of me, and take away everything that I've ever wanted. No one ever looked my way if you were there, and you knew it. I had a crush on Anthony for a very long time, ans if you were a good enough friend, you would have known, but what was the next thing I saw, you announcing to everyone that you were mated to him," She scoffed and ran her hand through her hair.
"Do you have any idea how I felt? I wanted to kill you at that moment, but I chose to wait, knowing that the right time for my revenge would eventually come, and when I found out that you were infertile, do you have any idea how ecstatic I was."
"It felt like an opportunity handed to me on a gold platter, and I couldn't resist," she laughed. "And now, you want to run away, just like that without paying for everything you did, not on my watch."
As she said this, she raised her hand and slapped me hard across the face. She didn't stop there, even with her pregnancy, she kept on hitting me and that was the reason I didn't want to hit her back.
If I hit her back, Anthony wouldn't listen to me if I said that she hit me first, so I just tried my best to dodge her blows and side step her, but it seemed Rebecca intended on drawing attention to us.
She kept following me no matter where I moved to, and shouting about how wicked I was and how she was going to make me pay for everything I had done.
Unknown to us, we had gotten to the very edge of the staircase, and Rebecca miscalculated her steps, and ended up tripping and falling down the stairs.
I watched in horror as she tumbled down, screaming as she went, to finally stop at the end of the staircase, blood pooling from under her.
It seemed the sound of her screams had attracted attention, because Anthony and a lot of the servants and guards came rushing out to see what had happened, and seeing me at the top of the stairs, with Rebecca at the bottom, pointed to a scenario where I had pushed her down the stairs.
Anthony shouted her name before rushing to her and carrying her unconscious body in his arms, shaking her and screaming for someone to call the pack doctor.
All the while, I hadn't moved from my spot, because I was still in shock. I couldn't even say a word.
Just then, Anthony's head turned towards me, his eyes red with murderous intent.
"Grab her and throw her in the dungeons this minute!" He thundered.
