I stood, watching in horror as the guards stalked towards me like wolves to prey. They held unto both of my arms, and dragged me roughly out of the room roughly.
I looked back to see Anthony still on the ground, holding Rebecca tight to his body, until we rounded the corner.
We got to the dungeon and the guards threw me in without a single care in the world. I was able to catch myself before my head hit the wall, and I quickly stood back up to beg them, but by this time, they were already by the main door of the dungeon, leaving.
I was left alone in the cold, quiet cell wondering what could be going on upstairs, I walked to a corner of the room and sat with my arms wrapped around my legs, tears dropping from my eyes. I was left that way for a very long period of time, but because there was no light I couldn't tell if it was morning already, or how long it was that I had been waiting.
I had started dozing off when the sound of the main door being pushed open made me jolt back awake. I stood up from the ground, walking forward, wanting to know who had come in, when Anthony walked out from the darkness.
He had the guards open up the cell, and he walked in, making his way towards me, without faltering. I moved back, avoiding his harsh gaze, as I didn't know what he would do.
"Do you have any idea what you just cost me?" he asked, as my back hit the wall. "From the moment I married you, I knew that you were only going to bring bad luck and pain to me. I had the intention of disposing you, but I didn't want to just kill you like that, now look at what it's cost me,"
"What do you mean?" I asked him, confused.
"Rebecca lost the baby! Are you happy about that? Does it make you feel excited that I'm still going to remain fatherless!" He shouted down at me.
My eyes widened in shock as I stared at his face that was contorted in anger. His brown eyes had turned red, and I knew his wolf was at the surface. I really hoped he didn't let his wolf out, because no one would be able to stop an Alpha wolf.
"We've been married for years, and never once, not even once did you conceive, and now that I finally had the chance, you took that way from me."
"Please, Anthony, listen to me. I didn't-" I started, but he interrupted me.
"Shut the hell up!" He shouted and grabbed me by my neck with both of his hands.
He squeezed my neck so tight that I couldn't breath, and I started clawing at his hands, but it was to no avail.
"It's better I kill you with my own hands and be done with it." He seethed.
He squeezed even tighter, and I started to feel lightheaded, seeing black dots. I couldn't even let out any words out. My attempts to get Anthony's hands off of me were futile.
So this is where it ends, I thought.
Suddenly, Levi, Anthony's head guard came and held unto his arm, squeezing it and urging him to let go.
He looked from Levi to me before finally letting me go, and I collapsed to the floor, trying my best to take in as much air as possible.
He turned his back to me and looked down to the floor, thinking for a while before making a move to leave, but I jumped forward and held unto his leg.
"Please, Anthony." I tried to let out, despite the pain in my throat. "Please I didn't do anything to her, I really-"
Before I could finish my sentence, I was kicked across the room, and my back hit the wall of the cell. I let out a loud cry, the pain spreading all over my body.
I groaned in pain as I watched Anthony and Levi leave the my cell without looking back. I tried to call after them, but no words left my mouth. I was too tired and too sore to do anything.
After the main door of the dungeon was closed, I remained in my position, not wanting to move too much.
I couldn't believe that Rebecca had really lost the baby. I never intended for her to loose her baby, neither did I intend for her to fall down the stairs. It was all just a coincidence.
I may have been bitter and angry at the betrayal of both my mate and best friend, but I'd never want to end an innocent life for my benefit.
I knew no one would want to listen to what I had to say, and when Rebecca wakes up, she might even tell them that I had been the one to push her, and no one would take my word instead of hers.
I sighed as I looked up at the ceiling of the cell, wondering what my fate would be. Knowing Anthony, he would either have me banished, or have some part of my limbs cut off.
I would just have to wait and see what would happen.
*******************
The next day arrived, and I was brought before the council for a trial. The news of what had happened had spread around the pack, so every one knew.
It was an open trial, so the people were present and their opinions were also going to be taken into consideration.
I stood before everyone, feeling small and dejected, expecting the worst punishment that would be given to be my limbs being cut off, but was I wrong.
Anthony stood up from his seat at the head of the table, looking angry, but also co didn't at the same time.
"I, Anthony Williams, Alpha of the Silverwood pack, decree that Freya Williams, will face the time punishment, and be killed by hanging!"
As the last words left his lips, the crowd cheered, excited at the news of my sentencing, while I stood there, shocked and frozen to my bone at what I had just heard.
