Chapter 15

1662 Words
Bella lay on her bed, staring at the cracked stone ceiling of the dorm room while Molly sprawled on hers, scrolling through her phone. The memory of last night refused to fade — Collins dragging her out of the party, ripping her red dress to shreds in that isolated cabin, f*****g her raw on that old wooden table until she was sobbing his name and leaking his c*m down her thighs. Her body still ached in the best and worst ways. Every shift of her hips reminded her how deep he’d been, how full he’d left her. She couldn’t keep doing this. The secrecy, the constant fear of getting caught, the way he disappeared right after claiming her like she was nothing more than a dirty secret… it was tearing her apart. She was twenty, freshly shifted, stuck at this academy for who knew how long, and she was still pining after her married stepfather like some pathetic lovesick pup. She sat up slowly, hugging her knees to her chest. “Hey, Molly?” Bella asked, voice hesitant. “Can I ask you something? It’s… about a friend of mine. Not me.” Molly lowered her phone, raising one fiery eyebrow. “Sure. Shoot.” Bella chewed her lip, choosing her words carefully. “So… my friend is kind of involved with this older guy. Like, really older. He’s powerful, dominant, the whole Alpha package. But he’s married. And she knows it’s wrong, but she can’t stop thinking about him. She feels guilty and stuck and… she doesn’t know if she should keep going or just try to move on and enjoy being young while she’s here at the academy.” Molly stared at her for a long second, then wrinkled her nose in clear disgust. “Eww. If that was me? Hell no. I’m not letting some old married dude c**k-block my entire college experience. We’re young, Bella. We’re at Lycaon, surrounded by hot, strong wolves who actually want to have fun without all the drama and baggage. Why the hell would anyone stay loyal to a man who’s already married and probably just using her as a side piece?” Molly sat up fully, gesturing with her hands for emphasis. “Look, if your ‘friend’ wants to waste her best years sneaking around and feeling like s**t every time she has to hide, that’s on her. But me? I’d be out there riding every hot senior who looks my way. Life’s too short to play the loyal mistress to someone else’s husband. She should enjoy the camp — I mean, the academy — while she can. There are plenty of guys here who aren’t tied down and who can actually give her what she needs without all the guilt.” Bella’s stomach twisted. She shook her head slowly, a bitter little smile tugging at her lips. “Yeah… you’re right. My friend should probably just enjoy her academy experience. Have some fun. Stop overthinking it.” Molly gave her an awkward, slightly suspicious look, like she wasn’t quite buying the “friend” story, but she shrugged it off with a bright smile anyway. “Exactly. No point in being miserable when there are hot wolves everywhere.” She hopped off her bed and stretched. “Anyway, I’m starving. Let’s go grab something to eat before the cafeteria closes. You coming?” Bella forced a nod, sliding off her own bed. “Yeah. Let’s go.” As they walked down the corridor toward the dining hall, Bella’s phone buzzed in her pocket. She didn’t even need to look to know who it was. She pulled it out anyway. [Alpha Daddy]: Where are you right now? Her thumb hovered over the screen. The ache between her legs flared at just seeing his name, but Molly’s words kept echoing in her head. She typed back quickly, keeping her face neutral so Molly wouldn’t notice. [Bella]: Heading to the cafeteria with my roommate. Why? The reply came almost instantly. [Alpha Daddy]: Good. Stay there. I’m coming to pick you up after dark. We need to talk. And Bella… wear something easy to take off. Bella’s breath caught. Her p***y clenched involuntarily at the command, fresh slick dampening her panties. But she also felt a sharp twist of guilt and frustration. She stared at the message for a long moment, then typed: [Bella]: I can’t tonight. I have orientation stuff. Maybe another time. She hit send before she could overthink it, then quickly silenced her phone and shoved it deep into her pocket. Molly glanced over at her. “Everything okay?” “Yeah,” Bella lied, forcing a smile. “Just… my mom checking in.” Inside, her wolf whined miserably, pacing and confused. Part of her already regretted the text. The other part — the part that was tired of being the secret, tired of the guilt, tired of waiting for scraps of his attention — felt a strange, fragile sense of relief. She didn’t know if she could actually stay away from him. But for the first time, she was starting to wonder if she should try. They reached the cafeteria doors. Molly pushed one open with her shoulder, the smell of roasted meat and fresh bread washing over them. “Come on,” Molly said cheerfully. “Let’s eat. And later we can talk about which senior wolves have the best asses. Purely for research purposes, of course.” Bella laughed weakly and followed her inside, trying to ignore the way her phone kept vibrating angrily in her pocket — Collins demanding answers she wasn’t sure she could give anymore. For now, she just wanted to be a normal twenty-year-old wolf at academy for a little while. Even if “normal” felt like the biggest lie of all. Bella and Molly stepped into the bustling cafeteria, the air thick with the scent of roasted meat, fresh bread, and too many wolves in one place. Bella scanned the room, watching groups of students laughing and talking with their friends. For a moment it almost felt normal. Then a loud bang echoed from the far corner. Bella’s head snapped toward the sound. Ethan and a group of his friends had cornered a smaller boy at one of the tables. They were laughing as they shoved him around. Molly grabbed a tray and quickly turned her back to the scene. “If you don’t want to get dragged into that mess, don’t look,” she muttered. Bella nodded, picking up her own tray, but she couldn’t stop herself from glancing over. “Hey, loser,” Ethan sneered, grabbing the boy — Billy — by the back of the neck and forcing his head down toward the table. “Look at this pathetic little omega sitting all by himself.” One of Ethan’s friends smirked. “How does it feel being at the bottom of the food chain and still not getting any girls or attention, huh?” The group laughed as they started dumping food on Billy — milk, mashed potatoes, whatever was closest. The rest of the cafeteria either watched with amusement or deliberately looked away. No one stepped in. Billy’s voice cracked as milk rolled down his face. “I’m… I’m sorry for being a loser.” Ethan scoffed. “Whatever.” He turned to leave, but froze when he spotted Scott and his crew walking in. Scott, tall and broad with a dangerous edge, stopped a few feet away. “Bullying a weak little omega? That’s low even for you, Ethan.” Ethan and his friends turned, tension crackling in the air. “Why don’t you mind your own f*****g business?” Bella couldn’t help the small smile that tugged at her lips. “At least someone has guts,” she whispered. Molly looked at her sharply. “What?” “That guy,” Bella said, nodding toward Scott. “He’s actually standing up for him. Seems like a decent person.” Molly tilted her head, then let out a dry laugh. “You mean Scott? Oh, honey… no. He’s way worse than Ethan. Trust me — no one here is a nice person. Not even me. I watch this s**t happen and sometimes I laugh. This academy is designed to toughen you up. If you’re weak, you get bullied. That’s just how wolves play.” Bella sighed, her appetite fading as she looked back at the scene. Scott suddenly noticed a boy staring at him a little too long. “You got something to say?” he snapped. When the boy didn’t answer fast enough, Scott jerked his chin. “Come here.” The boy obeyed. The moment he was close, Scott’s fist flew — once, twice, three times — until blood splattered across the floor. No one moved to stop him. No one even looked surprised. “I thought I told you to warn me whenever this bastard is around so I don’t have to see his pathetic face,” Scott growled, running a hand through his hair. Ethan smirked. “What’s wrong? Still scared from our last little altercation?” “What the f**k did you just say?” Scott stepped forward. Ethan met him halfway. In seconds they were gripping each other’s collars, faces inches apart, growling low. Bella shook her head, the words slipping out before she could stop them. “This is so stupid…” Her voice was louder than she intended. Both Scott and Ethan froze. Their heads snapped toward her at the same time. “Who said that?” they demanded in unison. The entire cafeteria went dead silent. Students immediately cleared a path, stepping away from Bella’s table until she was left completely exposed in the open. Molly facepalmed beside her, groaning softly. Bella’s mouth fell open as every pair of eyes in the room locked onto her — including Ethan’s and Scott’s, both now staring with dangerous curiosity.
