Chapter 6

~tap-tap-tap~ The ICU room has been vacant for a while. Safina lies haplessly, gazing in blank towards a pair of green leather hospital bed on the side. She has taken one shot of unknown injections earlier and awaited any after-effect that could be happening afterwards. Her doctor, a full-mask and blonde-haired male that exceeds the old man in height, appeared before the old man in calm and collected manners. Chuck gazes up towards the doctor in question. Yet, the doctor pays a little time to observe something else far in the distance instead. “Look at that woman. She’s like 20/20 for me, and It’s myself without glasses. Damn!” The doctor mumbled. Chuck kept himself straight ahead and forfeits an opportunity down yonder. Testosterone flows still, but stricted in sequence and occasionally late to bolster in time. The old man could accumulate them all and use them regularly, indeed, but requires a channeling period to commence. Thus, the beautiful young woman could boost no trunk to become bone. The old man grows weary and faintly exhausted after heaps of distress an hour before. The doctor’s inattentive gesture has only amplified burst of ire down within. For Chuck, his customer’s safety is an utmost priority, so the old man’s nerve goes tilted against the doctor as His expression instilled that nothing bad has occurred earlier. “So, how’s-“ Before Chuck could spell another word, the doctor shuts him off with an index finger up front,“ It’s only ulcer issues, Mr. Chuck. I can guarantee you She’s in fine condition and nowhere near death. Well, it’s just a matter of time, though.” The old man bathes in wetness of his perspiration. Spirits of youth eventually disappeared and transformed back into the truthful side of his veteran self. Chuck was driven under adrenaline rush at the time for the muscles to constrain and being supportive under pressure. Front bumper of his car has swollen up due to constant crashes against cars around the parking lot. In the end, it does not even matter. Safina has been recovered and reverted to her former self in about two hours. Chuck lost a quarter of his milk package and happened to have another loss to the market against the good deeds occurred. A lot of loyal customers should be angry with late delivery and scolded him out of misery. Damn it, what’s gonna be with Lilia, then? She’s gonna mad and..... ~tap-tap~ Amidst the train of thought and imagination that persevered, Safina patted a number of times to the old man’s shoulder. She gazes upon him glittered in verves of enthusiasm. A look of amazement towards Her sole hero in town, it seems, for the old woman refuses to move away from her current position in a lengthy period of time. And then, the old woman opened her lips wide,”You’re worthy, Chuck. You’re worthy.” She said so repeatedly. Before Chuck could reply, Safina suddenly grabs a seemingly-wooden stick from her bag. A few marks of human teeth across several segments of the stick can be noticed at a glance. Otherwise, tints of black and red smears on each tip of the stick. ~rustle-rustle~ “What’s it there, Safina?” Chuck questioned,” I’m apologize if I can’t bring myself to see it. Have to put my eyes on the road.” Safina peeks at the old man closely. On the other hand, Chuck felt uncomfortable to be used as sole entertainment of the customer and tried his best to conceal such emotion at the time. The old man switches gear down in purpose, sometimes, to sweep away of her focused interest at the moment. Unfortunately for him, Safina swiftly clutched herself onto the belt before the chest as the kinetic force ensues. She managed to retain her missed-up spotlight and returned back to the stance once more. Swung up back and forth, her hand bag falls to the leg spot and was left idle down by. ~flap~ The old woman unlatched the obnoxious-looking stick down to display none other than a paper inside. It is dilapidated across the top, yet pristine and preserved well down under. One small peek of interest tells him about a presence of signatures on the bottom right of the white manuscript. Cursive letters was printed at the top with “Dona Land Office” as the title. “I want you to have my farm, Chuck. You saved my life.” Safina muttered,” Our rivalry ends here. I will return to my homeland after this.” “What? Have you gone nuts?” She must be joking. Our rivalry? We’re just met a moment ago! To oppose his query, the old woman planted her two arms on his thigh. Either two of Her eyes begged before the man as tears melted down in advance,”I’ve never thought you’ll be so kind to me, Chuck. I don’t know what’s going on, but what you did before would never be gone under-appreciated.” She pleaded. This woman must have no clue on how thing’s work. I have to clarify that before She considered anything more to be official soon. “Yeah, I get it. But it’s still paperwork to do, right? You can’t just hand me down that paper. It has to be transferred in some other ways, you see.”
