Where am I?
I can smell dense aroma of chloroform and a special-made hospital sanitizer beyond the curtain. Yes, merely a baseless statement, since I have no hint of reason over my current state.
Hm, It is definitely hospital’s curtain. Look at them waves!
Yeah, they have them for means of privacy every time somebody-close took a visit to someone’s bedding. For no-family person like me, this is never an issue at all. My parents would rather wait in queue for my big brother’s concert ticket back in France than to check-up on my condition at the hospital bed.
I was abandoned by them in the past. For Bruno? I don’t know.
He’s a national hero. So, nobody shut the curtains in advance, or they thought I have no need of personal space as If I have no problem with it in whatsoever form.
I must be fell into miserable woe, back then. In my mind, memories of blood that spilled heavily from my legs has been played aplenty. They both lost half of its entire limbs. It was scorched up within the blue flame and burnt down to ashes. Tony Calcedo, our beloved nurse in the squad, has called other medical members of the army to aid myself out.
Horrific, indeed. I have them stored in the depth of long-term recollections. Not that I wanted them to be there, but more of the self-response mechanism that stocked a lot of dubious recall and kept it close in any identical events of the future. I was rescued, but no more tip-toes later on.
Could I even continue our progression to the capital city of Naulus, in actuality?
I suppose it’s homecoming party for Baron Schneider. Am I just ruined someone’s life?
~beep-beep~
“Ugh...”
Baron murmurs upon the white bedroom and peeking across the room afterwards. He is awakened in the middle of nowhere, at least for the near-oblivious mind of the young athlete’s weakened self. A green-tinted electronic device displays repeated green-ish line pattern and certain numbers besides it. Seventy-seven has appeared on the upper-right corner of the screen. Below the two-digits numbers that goes static, seventy-seven awaits under the ‘oxygen saturation’ indicator as well as 120/43 for the blood pressure rate of the man.
~tap-tap-tap~
Blurred presence of another person in the room emerges upon Baron’s corner shortly after. Her green-and-black attire precedes presumption of an active soldier, for it blends and spotted upon the leather in randomized pattern. She enters the veiled curtains of someone across the left. It takes a few minutes in prior to her second assessment ahead of the second patients in line.
Until the soldier-woman arrives to Baron’s bed.
“Patient number 77. 340, huh? Blood pressure rate is still below normal. No more open wounds below the knee. He’s awake, too, so It’ll gonna be soon for press conference.”
Listening to the soldier-woman’s mumble, Baron could help but writhe,”Hey, speak with me.” He said under his mouth,”Is that press conference thing was meant to be public?”
“Yes. It’s scheduled a day after you get better, Mr. Schneider. Shall I inform your agent?” She replied.
“No, let me have my privacy first. Don’t call anyone unless they insisted-“
~brak~
Five men inbound. They barged into the door, interrupted Baron’s request for a moment of ambience in the room. Neither permission nor courtesy to maintain their attendance. It is no visiting period, after all, so the soldier-woman approached them with either arms up front,”Come on, Lieutenant Daniel! You can’t mess with our only hospital, too. that’ll startle the others in here!” She shouted.
Lieutenant Daniel, as the soldier-woman assumed, replied her protest in a bland face,”No, I want to see my fellow warriors, then I’ll consider on going out from here.... with him.” He said. The two other person behind him seemingly agreed to the answer ensued. They nodded in sync, even giggle a bit before the soldier-woman at the front door.
“I will give no exception, Lieutenant Daniel. He’s our hero, so I shall present him with free time whenever He asked for it.”
Your name is Daniel, huh, Captain? It is initially my first to have it heard.
It seemed that the captain has aimed to never give away his position since the very beginning of their encounter. The soldier-woman’s soft rejection was nothing but a silly bargain against such persistence of the man. Even more, He switches attention ahead of the ill-bound fellow behind her and yelled,
“So, how about you, man? Are you gonna charge that cursed nation for eternity, or lying down here and praying that we could blast them off without your power somehow?” He asked, putting both eyes towards the man in cold stare.
“....”
No pertinent answer from the young athlete at the most. He stares cold towards the ceiling and keeping himself neglectful against the passionate query of his captain. On the other hand, the soldier-woman took a glance towards Baron’s bed and attempting to put a reasonable option as the stance endures.
“See, He’s not interested to your bid, Daniel. That man’s traumatic enough to have a land-mine destroyed his joints, and all you have been doing is...” She sneered,”...Trying to have him on board once more? Come on, this is ridiculous.”
“But, that kid-“
~bam~
The soldier-woman shut the door without lingering against Lieutenant Daniel’s plea, then sighed as Her eyes peered into Baron’s face,” Yes, you can have your privilege, Baron. I will ensure that you can go back home and do something else after.”
Ha-ha, I don’t have to muster a single word, and I can’t believe that Daniel thought I could do a ton with limbless bottom for some reason. Thanks, whoever you might be called.
