Lena's jaw clenched. If they didn't know Elize's name, she would be safe. But the fact that they knew where she was from was unsettling.
"But they won't try anything because they think the drug worked..." Jamie interrupted Lena's thoughts.
"The drug that slows down your transformation?" Lena replied after a beat, her voice tight.
The boy let out a low laugh as he stood up with shaky legs. "It's not supposed to slow down transformation... Lucky for me," he said, trembling.
