252 Words
The Mehta family decided to take a weekend trip to a resort just outside the city. They were planning for a peaceful day, away from the daily chaos, but Anaya was surprised to learn that some relatives from London would be joining them. Her aunt, Sneha, and her family were visiting India, and Anaya hadn't met them in years. The last time they visited, she was too young to remember. As they arrived at the resort, Anaya noticed a young man standing by the entrance. He looked unfamiliar, and her initial thought was that he was part of the resort staff. Sneha’s eldest son, Aryan, and his younger brother, Kunal, sat across from Anaya at the table. Her cousin sister, Priya, sat beside her, and they all started to introduce themselves. Lost in her own thoughts, Anaya missed the part where she was supposed to introduce herself, leading to an awkward nod when Aryan and Kunal greeted her. She cringed inwardly, thinking, How embarrassing. As the day went on, the awkwardness faded, and the families spent time together, chatting and exploring the resort. Aryan, who had a calm and composed aura, didn’t seem to be bothered by Anaya’s initial awkwardness. Yet, there was something about him that intrigued her—a quiet confidence and the way he would occasionally glance in her direction, as though he had more to say but chose to remain silent
