Maria POV

I watched as she walk out and I turn and look at Chris as he also look at me the same time and shrugged our shoulder and I said​​

" I will continue to say this again, you were blind then to date such a senseless lady " and he said "well because your my friend I will agree, maybe I wasn't seeing then ,I was even begging her to come back and now forgetting what she did, she came here trying to claim what was never hers" yeah, he was l staring at me gently and that gives me goosebumps. we are friends not romantic couple. Then,i said "I'm leaving now before others noticed that we are the only one in the office doing nothing" and he said

"okay you can go now and don't overwork" ​remembering what had happened when his ex came, I laughed but seriously is this the lady that want to fight me for a man she will even end up failing before she starts and went to to my office then, my assistant came I gave him the document already prepared for the for the meeting and so when the meeting time came we went to the meeting hall and I started presenting what we have gathered so far trying to convince our partner that the jewelry opening will be successful. They nodded in approvsl and at the end of the day we should end in an agreement . In the evening, Chris was waiting downstairs for me at that time where staff cannot see us where we stood

" Get in I would like to treat you a meal for celebration "

And I were like, "yeah you better do, without me you won't secure these partners"

" and that because I haven't done jewelries before "

"stop giving yourself excuses" I said"

Chris POV

I just found myself getting close to her day by day ever since she was taking to my private lodge and I couldn't believe that I was feeling comfortable here to share my space and anytime she wins a project, I always take for dinner as a celebration . Lisa has been doing things who knows the stupid thing she's planning to do this time around .we are having another party this night and we need attend because we have to give the partners some respect and I hope that Lisa won't appear as as I'm seeing her she likes appearing into wealthy cadres"
